So I bought my new 2021 26SBH and headed out with the family. Hoping also that my 2007 Suburban LTZ 4WD also could pull my camper OK. Besides seeing the oil rev up and smelling oil and thinking it will blow up at any point I was able to make it 2 hour to my campsite.
When stopping for gas though I seemed to have hitched up on a safety bar at the gas station. I did some damage as you can see.
Do you think that I can fix this myself? Not sure what I need for the siding piece to come back in place? Does the exposed siding/board pose a problem to rain and such? This a duck tape type of job? Unbelievable that it was our first trip. Glad for a tow truck that could pull me off of that bar.
I will have to fix the bumper up some to get my cap to fit back on.
The stabilizer was slightly damaged but looks to be still functional.
Does extended warranties cover accidents like this by chance?

Ouch! You are not the first one that this has happened to. Whether YOU can fix it depends on how handy you are, but it does look like a few new panels will be needed along with some re-caulking and trim work. Taping it off is a good idea to prevent water intrusion until it is repaired is a good idea. I don't imagine this is covered by an extended warranty. This is more of an insurance collision issue. That's why we have insurance. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.

As DW stated...call insurance make a claim, and tape it up really well.
We've all been there, done that, situations. Chalk it up as a learning curve and move on.
But don't let this mishap, keep you from having a great time out.

I stopped with just enough room for the paint while pulling into a gas station
Backed up and got the room I needed
After some gal approached me saying she thought I was going to hit the post; silently watching it happen - guess she was disappointed
Here is the picture showing where I had the accident. I guess a few inches do matter when it comes to tight spaces. For now on out its only the big stations and the outside lanes (Loves or Pilots).
Thankful it didn't happen before spring/summer so I can get it fixed in the winter (off-season) right?
