Flat tire

I went to check on my trailer after a very snowy winter near Chicago. All good except I have a flat tire. 2018 Alpha Wolf. Thinking it is time to replace the china bombs, gives me a reason. What kind do you recommend?

Thanks
Chris

I'm jealous to hear it's no longer winter in the Chicago area.

We love our Good Year Endurance tires

Goodyear Endurance. I had Castle Rocks on mine. Just replaced two of the four and replacing the other two next weekend.

Couldn't believe the difference when I was able to easily push down one of the Castle Rock treads several inches with little effort. The sidewall construction of the Goodyear tire was superior. I could barely move the tire when pushing down on the tread of that tire.

Plus, the Endurance tires are made an hour away from me and I'm supporting American jobs.

I have to say I am not a fan of Good Years, I have to replace the factory tires on my cars around 30K-40K. That is a little early in my book.

There are a number of threads on this forum about these tires versus others, so do some searches to see for yourself the reviews of those that've had these on their rigs. There are maybe one or two negative posts for one reason or another on Endurance tires, but a high percentage are very positive.

I've had them on my trucks and cars before and agree that, depending on which model of Goodyear I bought, I've experienced lower than expected tread life than other brands out there. But, you're comparing apples and oranges as far as RV trailer tires versus car tires. Not constructed the same.

IMHO, don't compare the tires on your automobile to ST tires for trailers. You are comparing apples to oranges. I have had Good Years on all my trailers, 1 travel trailer and 2 5vrs. Just bought a new 5vr and it came with Castle Rocks and I was afraid to tow it home from the dealer. As previous poster stated, do your research and make your own choice.

Sailuns are great if you have 16" wheels. Otherwise, the GY Endurance get good ratings.

Carlisle Radial Trail HD tires also have good ratings and in my tire size areat least 20% less than the GY Endurance.

I was set on the GY tires until I decided I wanted to buy other accessories for my TT.

We are trying out here soon a set of trailer specific tires as well. Zeemax and yes, they are Chinese but came recommended by friends who use them to carry way heavier construction equipment than my TT.

Yes, mixed reviews too. But going on what friends are saying. Plus, reviews are tainted on both sides by competitors!

I ran Maxxis for years, but we even had a few blowouts with those. The last time I decided enough fooling around and bought Good Year Endurance - even replaced the spares with them. Didn't get to put too many miles on them yet, but will be doing several thousand this year.

Chris, that's not a bad price at all. Is your shop a national chain? Just curious 'cause I just bought mine from Walmart online and cost me $625 with an extra discount and does not include any mounting or balancing.

This. What size are we dealing with here? I'd love to jump to 16's and potentially look at e-rated Light Truck tires, but for now, I think I may just go with GY endurances on 15's.

If your a KOA member you can get a 20% discount on GY tires. You go to the KOA site and then select Goodyear and the link will take you to the Goodyear corporate site. You order your tires their and they ship them to a GY dealer of your choice.

I don't think they are national, think they have a few shops around here. Levin Tire and Auto. NW Indiana
