2020 16FQ with Furrion 10 cu ft 12V fridge/freezer.
After getting to our destination on a recent trip we found that the freezer door opens too easily (the contents had fallen out onto the floor) and the fridge door was very difficult to open (had to push up on the door while trying to open). I had to remove the fridge latch so my wife could open it.
The strange thing is that we didn't have this problem before so I think it is something to do with the flexing of the fridge or the frame it is in or maybe a leveling issue.
I checked the manual and there does not appear to be any adjustments that can be made, strange.
Two month wait to get it in to be looked at, which is too long to wait.
Instead I've fixed it with a 3D printed part. Part cost is $0.21, design time was 30 minutes, print time was one hour. Now the screws in the latch receiver have slots allowing me to adjust the receiver up or down as needed.
Maybe there is a better way to fix it but for me this was quick and easy to do.
The STL file is attached. I had to go through some hoops to get around the dumb configuration of this forum. To access:
Exact same camper.. exact same fridge.. exact same problem. I wonder how many cooling problems are caused by poor hinge/latch/bad seals on these things?

PM me your name and address and I will mail you one of these printed parts.
I haven't had any cooling problems fortunately - the back wall frosts over.
2021 model - 1st trip ~120mi - no issues. 2 trip ~380 miles no issues. 3rd trip - 1st leg 218mi no issues, 2nd leg montross va to virginia beach - 130 miles, freezer door opened spilling ice cream & melted onto floor. On way home , 271 mi - same issue. From 3rd trip on, I have installed WDH so possibly the single axle trailer is bouncing more. 4 trip on way to Cape Cod from NJ, fuel stop check at CT, once again freezer door opened and spilled the ice cream again.
My observation is that if the freezer(and ref) door compartment has heavy item(s) and of course if there is ice cream in the freezer they would likely to open from all the bouncing around.
I am trying to see if a normal fridge child proof lock would work.
AndyA: A shout out to you for your improved latch receiver. It is excellent!
For others: I received AndyA's improved latch today, and after installing it my first impression is that it works superbly. In addition to being able to adjust the latch receiver up and down AndyA lengthened the bevel at the top and the bottom, increasing the the allowable tolerance between the fridge and freezer doors. I put some down force on the fridge door to simulate weight of items in the door, and it still latches. The final test will be the next time I go camping, but I have confidence that this fixes the problem. This design is a major improvement over the one distributed with the unit.

Hello AndyA
I read your fix on the furrion fridge latch, I to have the same fridge and same problem. I noticed if I lift the bottom door a bit the latch works like it should, I think the door has sagged down but no way to adjust it up, I was just going to add another nylon washer in bottom hinge. I like your idea, I would appreciate the part you made also if possible, I will pay you for the part.
Thank you
Brett, Hoover dam mechanic.
All of the parts from the first batch have now gone. This was much more popular than I expected! To continue this I have created a posting in the classified section.
Thanks so much! I have a 16FQ (2021) with the same problem. How do I PM you? Sorry... I'm very low tech!
