Leveling a Cherokee 254Q

Thoughts on leveling:

Last November I bought a Cherokee 254Q and have only camped with it once. I had some issues with the shower leaking down under the door and eventually running on the floor. Are showers designed to be leveled flat or leveled to have the water run away from the door?

I also just saw a YouTube video on the subject and they extended the slide out then leveled the camper. A comment under the video disputed this method saying to never put the slide out until the camper is already leveled as to not bend any supports or track.

Any suggestions on how you folks level your Travel Trailer is appreciated and hopefully informative to others.

You might check the chalk, it shouldn't be leaking under the door. My trailer only has a shower curtain, if we age going to use it I level the trailer based upon the shower base. Normally I just use the refrigerator for levelling.

I don't put the slide out until the TT is levelled.

Its a shower enclosure and the door that opens has a piece of plastic/rubber that is mounted under the door the width of the door, kind of like a flap. It seems to be coming out from under there.

Sounds like you have a seal problem, not a leveling issue. Also, camper should be level and stabilized before opening slides.

Have you turned the shower on and looked from the outside to be sure?

Check all the joints inside are they all sealed and tight?

Slide in other wise you need to crawl under it and move the trailer with it out or move it in and out till you get it right to add locks to level out.

I level with the ball just left of the low point in out gage. That usually goes level as soon as the slide is out.

I have a 26rl and my shower did the same thing. I noticed the bottom of shower sides and door do not come all the way to tub, bad quality of install. I used some silicone to fill gaps.
