LP Quick Connect

My LP quick-connect for the outdoor kitchen on my 2010 Grey Wolf broke off (speed bump?) while driving from FL to GA. The quick connect broke off just after the elbow and when I unscrewed what was left, what remained was the male threaded end 1/2" 90 degree elbow.

Well, I could not find a 1/2" threaded quick connect, so instead I bought this quick-connect:Quick Connect

And this fitting to go from 1/2" to 1/4":
Fitting

When I hooked up my outdoor stove, it would not light. I went inside and purged the lines and lit my indoor stove, and tried again, but the outdoor stove still would not light.

Could it be that I don't have enough LP going through the new quick connect?

Does your outdoor stove have its own regulator? If it does, gas going to it is double regulated and probably won't have enough pressure to operate. Have you ever operated this stove on your quick connect?

Thanks for your quick response Dan, the outdoor stove came with the RV as part of an outdoor kitchen so no regulator.

I actually figured out the issue. When I clicked on my own product link above, I noticed that the shut-off valve operated in the opposite manner than I thought. I went out and reconnected everything and then put the shut-off in the "On" position, and immediately heard the gas and it lit right up.

Sorry about that!

Thanks for reporting back.

Yes, just like plumbing shut-off valves.

What threw me was that the valve opens forward and blocks the quick-connect from sliding back when the valve is in the "On" position. In my head I reasoned that this position was "Off" and they did that to keep you from plugging anything into the quick-connect until the valve was in the "On". In hindsight, I think they designed it that way to prevent you from disconnecting anything before you shut off the valve.
