MAXX AIR VENT COVER Question

I purchased a max air vent cover on amazon for the bathroom vent in my Artic Wolf 287BH. I went to install it and realized there are 4 plastic tabs (upside down U's) that stick up beside the vent cover which are in the way of me installing the cover.

I am guessing these are made for a specific type of vent cover?

Has anyone encountered this if so how did you resolve it?

I am thinking of cutting the tabs with a multi tool so I can install the vent cover.

Thoughts?

Are you sure those aren't the tabs the pins go thru to attach the vent cover? Did you verify the package came with all the parts?

I thought that too but the tabs hold the vent cover up as the holes in the cover aren't made to go around them. So without cutting up the cover to slide it over the tabs I cant get that to work.

If you got the correct cover it fits over the tabs and cotter pins to hold it together . Did you get the cover with the metal mounting brackets ? If you did not get the correct cover that fits the tabs and cotter pins in place return it and get correct one .

The U tabs look like they are on the the MaxxFan and MaxxFan Plus. So you need to get the FanMate Cover if I am looking at it correctly.

The correct cover makes install a breeze . you can use the cover with the metal brackets it's just a pain . the correct cover will cost twice as much like 60bucks compared to the other style which you can get for 25-30 bucks .
