Need Help Removing Housing for Furrion

I have a 2021 Cherokee TT - I am having an extremely hard time finding a socket to remove the housing on the pre-wired Furrion back up camera. Does anyone know of what socket size is needed + what is skinny enough to fit in that groove? All of the installs I have seen have a screw driver but unfortunately my bolts don't have the option to do socket or flat head just the socket. Thanks!

Are you sure it isn’t a Robertson head (square) screw? Factories commonly use a #2 Robertson screw.

Is it a square or a hexagonal (6-sided) hole? If it is a square, look for a #2 Robertson screwdriver.

It looks like all you need is a 1/4” or 5/16” nut driver. It looks like there’s plenty of room for that to fit.

Sure looks like 1/4". Could be 8mm if metric.
Because of the close proximity of the plastic housing's indentation you may need a thin wall socket.

I’ll go get a 1/4” and start there to see if it can fit. The fun part is also trying to figure out socket size. Might just end up with a new 1/4” drive socket set

And a deep one at that depending on the size of the drive end.

When I run into an issue like this, and don't have a socket to fit, I just go to the hardware store or auto parts store and buy the cheapest socket I can find. Even the cheap ones will get the job done and still be good for one or two more uses Auto Parts stores often sell just single sockets so you don't have to buy a whole set just for one or two screws.

If you are installing a Furrion Camera you only have to remove the 2 Tiny Phillips Screws and remove the Cover plate! Youroo!!

If you have a magnetic screwdriver just leave the bit out, it's a 1/4" driver.

I actually do have a screwdriver I could try. The Phillips head is for the front of that fin but I bought the haloview so in order to install that mounting bracket I have to remove the furrion housing fin. Thanks! I’ll give the one I have a shot and if not go get a 1/4” and post results.

I don’t know what you all are seeing, but that is a self-tapping screw with a (most-likely) 1/4” hex head.

It is more like a bolt so not something that a torx or screwdriver would go into. It would be more if the 1/4” or drive

Here is what I’m using and how far I got so getting closer but not quite able to fit. On top it gets almost to the end and then the plastic gets too tight and stops it. On bottom it isn’t thin enough to reach around the bolt/screw. Do they make them thinner on the end than this?
