New 28A+ question for you all...

Just purchased a new 2007 28A+ in October of last year. When we looked at them on the dealer lost there was no middle divider at the end of the queen bed. When we picked it up I was told that there was a change mid run and they added a wall at the end of the bed and put a HUGE box that hangs over the bed to hold a 19in TV. Lying in bed we see the back of the TV and have an overhang that we keep hitting our head on. Is there a way to remove the wall without causing structural damage or even just the box? If just the box, any recommendations as to how to fill the hole left and hang a small flat screen? We love the trailer and can't wait to take it out next weekend......

I can't find a brochure showing this new feature, and frankly cann't really visualize it. Is this wall at the foot of your bed? I did notice this new kind of TV centre divider in a few FR trailers at the latest RV show, with bedroom access on either side of it. Didn't notice a clearance problem though. Perhaps a picture of it would help the members.

By the way, take a look at the thread called "Added Cabinet Doors". Perhaps your dealer can help you order FR original parts to retrofit your trailer back to the floorplan you initially ordered.

28+ with center wall

I own a 06 28+ but saw an 07 for sale on the web that showed a 28+ with the wall in the middle of the bed compared to being offsett to the left as mine is. This trailer had a flat screen mounted on the wall facing away from the bed which I really liked. I could not imagine putting a regular tube type on it because it could be in the way i guess

Well, going back to your question... Man! Taking the box out is the right idea, and I would think a decorative oak panel fastened to the front (LR side) would give you a good base for mounting an LCD. I assume the cable and wiring route up through that wall, so you'd have to relocate that somehow within the hole itself. On the bedrom side I'd try to retain access to the back of the TV with a screwed-in panel or something.

But frankly it's new and a lot depends on how much you dislike that box they installed and whether it will take away from your overall experience. If you really despise it, I'd be more inclined to look to your dealer to solve the problem with FR. It isn't what you ordered and I'm willing to bet you would not have chosen the unit with it if you had had the chance to see it. And surely the dealer has to agree with you that it's pretty ... well, imposing. I'd look for your dealer to help make it right, perhaps get FR to retrofit one of their own LCD set-ups. (Not the LCD iteslf, but everything else they install to hang and connect one). I don't think it would be a major job, as that partition wall is likely preassembled with the cutout and ready to accept the LED setup or that box.

Well, the partial wall is actually a nice idea, giving acces to both sides of the bed in an otherwise cramped bedroom; unfortunately they don't seem to have thought the TV location through. Would be nice with an LCD though!
