New Owners of a 2020 Cherokee 294BH

Our third new trailer. Upgrading from a pup, to a hybrid and now to a 36ft Cherokee. Going to miss the ability of the bunks but not going to miss the effort needed to take care of canvas or the lack of temperature control. That was one of the biggest reasons and we learned the kids needed their own space which is why we chose a bunk house. This model both met weight and size requirements for older children and upgraded comfort.

Excited to pickup next weekend. Looking for any comments from the gallery who might give wise advice about this trailer if you own or had owned one similar. Thanks.

Congratulations! With a 10K lb GVW, are you sure that your ½ ton truck can handle the load? Curious as to why you think so.

Thanks! We are pretty happy with the purchase. I don’t think a 1/2 ton truck can carry this thing. Not sure why you think I have a 1/2 ton truck? It’s a 3/4 ton with a 3.92 gear ratio and 5.7 Hemi. 13500lbs towing capacity. trailer has a 940lbs tongue weight so the price is close. Just gotta watch what we load up front. And yes, the max GVWR is 10k

Oh wait, my signature might have had my old ford truck as my TV in that post......

Yeah - it was the signature. Thanks for the clarification!

No problem! You made my wife and I go back over the paperwork and details just to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

Probably cause it says at the top of your chart that it’s a Ram 1500 and the 2500 comes with the 6.4

Your profile says 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel twice, not a 2500.

It might be a 1/2 ton truck in it’s class but it has an 1800lb payload capacity which is over a 3/4 ton. This is what I’m referring too. Sorry.

My F150 has 1828lbs of payload capacity but i would NEVER equate it to a heavy duty 3/4 ton.
Its more about the truck's construction and equipment.

Here it is...
As promised, the stock bed size in this particular trailer is 60x74x6. Sitting on a piece of plywood or OSB. The also make a 75in. A 75in would fit as well as there is not much room to walk in front of the bed anyway. Why not add an inch to the size of the bed if ya want it.

The ride and handling of my truck while pulling the trailer was way better then expected. Around town, it was hardly noticeable that I even had a trailer attached. Acceleration was good and my truck tires both front and back were level with the trailer being straight. The highway was a little different. Felt like maybe I needed to tighten up the weight distribution/sway control. I’ll add another chain link next time to test but otherwise feels great.

We picked up the same rig in November and have camped 3 weekends so far. Overall happy. We did immediately replace the mattress with a residential queen memory foam mattress, way more comfortable. To your point, there wasn't exactly much room at the foot of the bed anyway. I also installed a TV mount that swings out to make viewing from the couch better. I was able to mount the included lift off mount so we can still bring the TV outside. I also built a pull out drawer in the storage compartment. It is on 48" drawer slides. When I was done, I almost regretted it, thinking the drawer took up too much room. In reality, I can store items beneath and on the sides with more ease. For me, the drawer ends up a major plus because the storage of smaller items is SO much easier and more accessible.
