New to me 2010 Grey Wolf 28bh
Just picked up a 2010 28bh. It looked great when I looked at it and did my examination of it. Got it home and hooked up to shore power, started to get a sulfur smell. Walked around it and heard the battery boiling. Used the battery disconnect. Prior owner never kept the level up in it. Battery took over 1/2 gallon of water. Guess what, doesn't work anymore. I guess I need to get my fine tooth comb out and pms everything, even it if looks ok, just for my piece of mind.
Help me get a list together.
Chris

Welcome on the site, and congrats on your purchase. If you bought it from a dealer, you might check to see if they had a warranty on the battery.

It was a private party sale. The dates were not removed on the battery, but I can easily fix that for the prorated portion. $103 for the new battery. Not too shabby.
We upgraded from a 2005 Flagstaff 625D popup. We had bought it to see if my dw would like it and she did. So we just upgraded. Love it, but I need to go through it to trust it.

Yep, Good series 24 Dual Purpose batteries in the 75 AH range should run about 75 to 80 bucks.
HOWEVER, your converter should not have boiled your battery. A shorted cell should have tripped your converter off line. That it stayed on and kept shorting into the battery needs to be investigated BEFORE you hook up a brand new battery for it to eat. Just my opinion.

Ok, I hooked up the multi meter without the charger on, battery read 4.58 volts, hooked it back up, it went up to 12.89 and then dropped slowly to 12.10. After a minute I cod hear the liquid bubbling and disconnected. What should I check? The wires are hooked up correctly and they were tight, there was no corrosion on the connections. The only thing was the low fluid level.

Not sure what converter you have, but this is the manual for the WFCO.
The troubleshooting section is at the back.

This is their website and tech support may also help you.

I just read through the ts section and it was only looking at the no load voltage of 13.6. So we will see when i get home.

Just did test. A solid 13.60 from the converter. Put the new battery in and no problems yet. I am running the fridge and hot water heater to make sure they work. So far so good.
