Glad you got partial payment. My 5th wheel is stored inside so not to worried about theft but looking for a way to permanently mount one of these to my Rad eBike... Geo fence function. 3 years for $225.. not bad...

As was said things that are not part of you trailer are covered by homeowners insurance (whether it is the same company as the trailer or not). Tools, computers, clothes, linens, dishes, camping chairs etc,

I'm not sure how it works since I've never filed a claim on any of our trailers, but My progressive trailer policy has something like $2000 for personal contents along with purchase price replacement for the whole trailer. I had assumed that personal items would be anything not bolted on, but I could certainly be wrong.

Yes, I learned after the fact that you and “add” coverage for personal items for your RV insurance. Often not added by default. Sounds like what you had. In hindsight, perhaps thats just what I’ll do so it’s all under one deductible.

Thanks for the information. An iTracker sounds like an excellent idea. As a backup, you might consider a cheap mobile phone that has GPS. A trucker on this site recommended doing this and it sounded good to me. Of course, you'd have to have a way to recharge it easily, but you can buy phones that have battery cases the increase the length of time between charges.

Have you been out shopping for a new rig yet?

Or you can buy one of those portable power stations/jump starters/chargers that could keep the phone charged for months. Just make sure you hide it good and turn the phone ringer off.

So sorry to hear all this. Denver has been getting nastier and nastier! Had my stereo system stolen when I was in college there. My cousin had his car hauler stolen and later recovered it in a trailer park. I had registration stickers stolen from my car once and got ticketed for out of date tags.

People are just scum bags sometimes!

NoBo's were on our short list as well! Post pictures when you get it!

Also, appreciate the advice on insurance. As we add items to our camper, I will be sure to get them listed on the policy. For instance, a very expensive bike rack...

So assuming no hitch lock installed? I saw it asked numerous times but didn’t see answer. One of the first things I bought cause you can’t trust anyone anymore.

Bolt cutters are cheap and are considered the main tool for a thieves.
The money box on my farm stand was broken into at 4am on night, the hitch hiker pull out a bolt cutter from his back pack .
Locks are for honest people, do something like removing the tires or putting an alarm system on the RV.

True, but thereís many model of hitch locks that canít be cut with bolt cutters. In the end, it either slows them down or they move on.
