Took the plunge!

We finally did it and ordered a 26DBH. We went to the rv show last weekend not looking to buy, but the deals got us. The dealer said the grey wolf should be in about 4 weeks from now. We are beyond excited. It's a little longer and heavier than I originally wanted, but after walking through it I couldn't say no. We will just have to pack a little lighter and not bring the whole house with us.

I would like to thank everyone on this forum that gave me some advice on what to look for. Also thanks in advance for all the questions to come! Can't wait for the TT and spring weather.

Tyler, is that for the 2016 or '17? Don't the next model years start popping up in early spring? We are looking for the same model as you. Love that thing! Gotta post pics when you get it.

Eazier I would call it a 2016.5. It has a few things that aren't on the original ones. Some of the stuff that sold us are the new led lights with a glow light switch. Turns them into a nightlight. Also has an out door kitchen now as well. Has a small fridge and a two burner cooktop by the front door. The outside scare light is also a new smaller brighter led light.

Awesome!! We will most likely be buying in May. Soooooo jealous! Was there an option to put a grillwhere the 2 burner stove goes? Thought that would be more used. Pics when ya get it! Congrats!

Eazier I'm not real sure if there is a grill option there. We really weren't planning on buying at the show but the wife spoke up and said yes! So it was full speed ahead then. Haha. So we didn't really look at the options because this one had everything we could want and then some. I did see it has a rv quick connect there so you could set up a grill there pretty easy. That's what I have planned. Just buy a small Webber grill and connect it. We will most likely never use the cooktop burners. Maybe for breakfast. Don't you worry as soon as we get it home I will post a ton of pictures. If I can figure that out. Haha

My next question would be. What kind of WDH w/ sway control would everyone recommend? The trailer GVWR is about 8000. I'll never have it that full but would a 1000lb, 10000lb hitch be good enough. Or should I step up to the 1200/12000 lb hitch?

I currently have a Jayco 264bh but will be upgrading to the same model you have. I have a Reese dual cam strait-line on it and it works great! Will definitely use this setup again.

I tow our 26DBH with a 10K Equal-I-Zer Hitch. We've towed in some pretty gusty conditions and its been awesome with the sway. My only complaint is that with the placement of the tow chains on the Grey Wolf, they rub on on the hitch and now need to be moved back on the tongue of the trailer. Theres a thread on it in the toy hauler section.

Kinda sad that I talked my wife into buying one 9 months early now that I hear about the outside kitchen and glow switches though.....dang!

JustB_Rad, what exactly is the glow switch(es)? The trailer already had the blue LED inside, right? Do the switches just make it dimmer?

Sounds to from Tyler_13's description is the overhead lights are now LED and the switch in the middle is illuminated so you can see them in the dark. Just a guess but would be awful nice to have had without having to do it myself and buying replacement parts!

I hope this works. But that is suppose to be a picture I found of the lights. Its a normal light and when you press the middle it has a green glow to it. More of a nightlight glow. That way the kids can sleep with it on in the bunks.

Thanks! Turns out you were right all along about the 26dbh. Haha. I didn't think I wanted that long of trailer but after stepping inside and walking around there was no way to say no. The rv dealer we purchased from actually sells the equalizer hitches so I have a feeling that is what we will go with.

You might be better served to purchase one off of Amazon or another site before you go price wise, unless you can beat the dealer up a bit before you get there to pick it up.

I don't have any more information than that. I found that picture on a dealers website actually. I looked in the brochure and they don't even have them in the brochure yet.

Must be something totally new then because I tried doing a google search for that type of light and got nothing even close.

Congrats on your new purchase. Switches sound nice but more drain on the battery I would think being not plugged in. Also if I recall if your considering adding a out side grill other the one that FR offers you will need to modify to work with the tt propane system. Later RJD

Thanks. All the lights are still switched by the front door on the side of the cabinet. You can either have them glow or normal, but can turn them off completely with the regular on/off switch. I planned on having to make a propane hose from the rv connection to the grill. These are all just ideas and I will see how/if they happen once we get the trailer. I have big plans in my head though. Haha
