Water Heater Board

Greetings Everyone,

Looking for a little advice. So my hot water heater won't fire on Gas. Doesn't even attempt it. So in reading on here (months ago) I know the boards could go bad. So about two weeks ago I finally got to pull the board out. Whelp...No black spot on it like others have seen in the past. So I plug it all back in and ran some cold water into it and the dam thing fired right up. I let it run its cycle and shut it off.

Now when I go to try and use it again, its back to doing the same thing. Anyone have an idea as to why it does this? I assume its going to go bad. I didn't crawl back under yet to disconnect/reconnect but I assume that will work again. Do I just purchase the after market one?

It may have gone into safe mode from three failed attempts to light. Pull the fuse for the control board, wait a minute or so and give it another try before replacing it.

Check the contacts and clean and straighten them if necessary.

If you have a Suburban SWD6 and you do need a board here's a link:

It doesn't even attempt to light at all. Thats the issue. As for a fuse for it. I don't believe I have one. I do have a breaker and I have gone that route before as well. Still nothing.

Even the reset on the water heater itself doesn't work.

Aside from cleaning them its brand new. Like the whole camper. 2021 304BH. It worked when I first got it. For like the first month. Starting having issues when I ran out of gas in my one tank. Then it was flakey for a bit and then it stopped all together.....

I tried to get the cover over when this first started happening way back when. Couldn’t figure it out.

I can prove my theory if I crawl under the bed again. But that’s just leads to a faulty board I assume.

Dealership won’t look at it cause I’m to far away from them. And I’m setup on my seasonal site so I don’t wanna move it off there.

Use the phone app. It makes adding pictures very easy. You can do it directly from the phone camera.

Try what Cboss suggested. Get a can of contact cleaner and clean every contact you can find.
