What is this "Voltmeter" doing?

I have heard this thing is garbage, but seriously what is the deal?

My PWM controller shows 12.8v
Cherokee Total Control shows 12.5v
Then this thing is running anywhere from 30.1v to 19.7v and changes every second.

On battery only. What's this thing doing?Click image for larger version

Looks like a defective voltmeter. Replace it.

What is your battery setup? Have you added a 12v battery?

Bluetooth app so you can connect your smart phone to your TT and control the lights, slides, awnings, etc with your phone.

Or faulty wiring.

Volt meter

Looks like two screws will get you in so you can use a test meter, like a Flir, Fluke or UEI.

I want that Cherokee Total Control

I wonder if I can add the Cherokee Total Control to my TT. I do have a wireless remote control now. Anybody out there done that? How pricey?

Looks like you have a Cherokee RV product, which is what I have. Depending on the model year you have, it's likely part of the Juice Pack package they've been installing on 2020 and 2021 models. The volt meter on mine indicates the battery levels being charged by a 50-watt roof-mounted solar panel.

I am thinking that the OP has added a second 12V battery and connected them in series resulting in 24V to the TT.

I was in an RV Park where spaces were so narrow that almost happened to me.

Never going back there.

Looks like solar panel output which will vary with light intensity.

Only one group 24 12v battery, factory installed.

And this was happening at night, no solar output.

I'll email my dealer and copy FR service, see what they say. Maybe my first warranty claim. 2 weeks in, that didn't take long.

Yes, I'm commenting on how the factory Voltmeter is messed up, apparently. The readout is all over the place. I checked it again throughout the day and it was anywhere from 16v to 19v.

Batteries on towables, are dealer-installed items, not by the factory. The factory may have installed the battery box though.

With the Juice Pack option from FR, the battery comes from the factory. My dealer was just as surprised as I was. Of course, it could have just been a line of bull from my tech doing the PDI, but it is the exact same "Expedition" battery that others have received with recent Wolf Pups that have the Juice Pack option.

Yeah, you definitely got some type of issue with that volt meter or wiring to it. I don't ever recall seeing mine go much beyond 14v, but the level displayed was consistent unless we were using the battery. Just be prepared to wait a month or two for FR to accept the warranty claim and ship out a replacement meter to the dealer. At least you can still use your RV and it won't be sitting at the dealership service department for all that time, like mine did recently.
