This is about the best idea I could come up with after 2 weeks of thinking about it so I did it. Let me know what you think and if anybody wants I can go into detail about how I did it.

The tabs that the shelves are sitting on are movable up and down also.

nice job, i have a 18TO and i know what your going through, not a whole lot of room to work with, i did mine with 2 permanent shelves, lots of room for cereal boxes and what ever else

The camper I sold had that bigger fridge and that is one thing that I miss, now I just pack all my drinks in my Yeti 75 cooler. Keeps ice for 5 days and keeps cold for about 7 to 8 days without adding ice.

question, i see you are using the husky centerline wdh, how do you like it, is it quiet and doing its job, i have a older husky with the chains and sway bars and not happy with it

I got the WDH used ($250) from the dealer I bought my TT from. The tech adjusted it perfect AFAICT (after reading discussions here and a detailed review of the WDH's manual). The tech explained everything he was doing and why with the various measurements and adjustments.The Explorer feels locked into the TT going down the road, backroads or interstate. VERY CREEKY when turning hard right angle corners. Annoying, but a fact of life. Thought about greasing the flat bar surfaces where they ride on the mounts but I am concerned it might affect its anti-sway function which AFAIK depends, at least partially on friction.
Overall, I like it because it appears to be doing its job well. And no seperate anti-sway bars to deal with.
It is my first WDH but it has been a good experience.

The dealer was Suburban RV in Mansfield OH. Great dealer experience, the financial company they used, not so much.

I bought a Wolf Pup 16BH in May and did the exact same thing. Made my wife really happy which makes me really happy. We sold the Wolf Pup after our first 5 week trip and bought a Viking 17RD. The wife thought the Pup was too dark and made her sad. Can't have that, so sold it and bought the Viking. This TT feels like we are sitting outdoors due to the number and size of windows. Remember, happy wife, happy life. At least I was able to make a profit on Pup. Since buying the Viking, I have installed shelves under the sink & stove and also in the upper cabinets to make extra storage.

somewhere i read there is nylon bushing kit they make to quiet the noise for the spring bars, make a phone call and ask

I found on Amazon a nylon bushing kit that is for a similar design different brand that snaps onto the bar pad bracket and isn't quite the same size AFAIK ;(

Great job. I've been planning on putting shelves in my 18TO as well. My guess is that they left that closet that way for in case you wanted to install a hang bar for clothes. But that would be a weird location to store clothes and leave you no space for food.

Just wondering if anyone came up with solutions for the bathroom? I am fine with not having a sink in there but wanted some type of medicine cabinet mirror. I bought a light cheap one at home depot. It weighed about 5 pounds. I used 30 lb gorilla tape to mount it. Well that only lasted one season. Not sure about proper mounting without blindly drilling holes in the wall.

It's not that hard to find the studs in the TT walls. Just press in on the paneling to where it bows in the most across the whole wall. Where it hardly flexes is where the studs are. The studs are either 2x2" or 2x4". Note: dimensional lumber is actually only 3.5 for the 4 and 1.5 for the 2". When a 2x4 is used in a TT, it is placed flat in the wall for more inside space. Another NOTE: only use screws that go in the walls 1 & 1/4". You DO NOT want to penetrate the outer skin of the TT.

The only concern is avoiding wiring and such. It seems the bulk of the wiring goes through on top and bottom of tha TT and just is dropped down or pushed up to any wall location between the studs, unlike in a home where the short side of the stud faces you and may be drilled through for routing wires & pipes with little loss of structural strength.
