Wolf Pup 18TO

We had our unit since August of 2016 and its been solid. We are happy with it. We had an issue with bulb seal on the slideout and a small shower leak but that was taken care of by the dealer under warranty with no problems. $13,7k out the door seems like a good deal. Your tundra will not have any problems towing this pup around the country. I was towing mine with 2007 F150 5.4L in the past but i upgraded to 2014 Silverado 1500 v8. We have done lots of upgrades to our 18To in the last 2 seasons like upgrading bath fan to larger maxxair roof vent, upgrading main mattress to memory foam, upgrading from cheap china bombs tires to Goodyear endurance tires and installing roof vent cover as well as battery disconnect switch (this last one is a MUST HAVE)

The 18to super slide when retracted is in front of the bathroom door and cannot be accessed.

I am just curious if anyone has had any major issues or repairs with their trailer and how reliable it will be for the next few years. I'm buying more than what we need now to hopefully still use it over the next few years as my kids get older.
We bought ours new in September 2017. Been on three camping trips with the latest one last month from Tennessee to Disney World. So far no problems. Iíve made several upgrades but no equipment failures yet. I will be watching those OEM tires though and replace them as soon as I see any signs of dry rot or abnormal wear and go with some Goodyears.

In case Jay_01 is still considering, keep in mind the slide operates off of the battery. So it can be deployed easily, anywhere you have the room.

In response to the OP, we got ours in August 2017 and haven't had any issues. It tows good behind our Durango with the 3.6L V6, but we haven't been to the mountains yet. I am keeping an eye on the Castle Rock tires and will probably switch for Goodyears within the next two years, if not sooner (they look fine but everyone has me worried).

Problems

We love our Wolf Pup 18 TO. However we have had nothing but problems with leaks in the slide out when closed. We bought it at Camping World in December 2017 and they have been no help what so ever. We then took it to an independent RV shop and Forest River gave them the run around about doing the warranty work. Also the water heater does not work. Have any of you had the same problems?

I didnít have as many problems as you did. I just traded my wolf pup 18to for brand new rockwood mini lite 2511s. We just picked it up yesterday for 21.5k. Its a huge upgrade. Much bigger bathroom and a separate bedroom. Tows like a dream. We got 11k for our wolf pup on trade in.

My SO and I have had our 18TO for a month and are obsessed. If you have questions let me know! We upgraded from a 1999 Palamino Pop up to the 18TO without any regrets for the size, space, and price.

We did add the awning cover for the slide out and also the solar panels to charge our 2 deep cycle batteries when we boondock. Overall I was concerned with the storage but I don't have any issue at all inside the camper (heck I even have spare space!)

The bathroom is small- but we usually camp where there are shower houses so I converted our shower to a closet and we just use the toilet. If we need the shower I can take the closet organizers out but there is an outdoor shower that works great too. Since its normally just the SO and I + the beagle it works great - even if we have other family who travel with us.

The towing capacity on the Tacoma TRD is about 6,500 if I recall. The entire dry weight of the 18to is 4,999 with hitch according to the sticker on our camper. We haul with a F150 and it does great.

Check your vehicle's labels to be sure but a quick Google search shows your truck could be rated for 3500 lb, 6400 lb, or 6500 lb, depending on options. If you truly have the tow package and not just an added hitch, then the 18TO is just right.

Loaded for a week vacation the trailer typically weighs around 4400 lb with 600 lb tongue weight. Our Durango is rated for 6200 lb and pulls nicely using a Tekonsha P3 brake controller and Reese Steadi-Flex weight-distributing hitch / sway control. We did trade out the Chinese Castle Rock tires for Goodyear Endurance after just a few trips.

One year, 2 months of ownership and we love our 18TO. We have about 40 nights of camping, with 39 of them Boon-docking.... We love to get in the backcountry. Here's some pics of some our our trips.

Television

Hello-
We have a 2016 wolf pup 18to and I forgot to measure the TV space before leaving last week, but want to grab a tv for it before we get to it this weekend. What is the largest size you can fit in it?
THank you!

When we got our 18TO we had a 2006 TRD Off-road with a tow package and it towed it just fine around Ohio. We did end up getting a newer F-150 when we decided to move out west though, basically because towing across country through the mountains with a high mileage truck made us nervous. I wish we still had it now...

Towing in the mountains of Colorado, I wouldnít want less than my Ecodiesel, with turbo and 420ftlbs torque.

I think a 260hp, naturally aspirated engine would really struggle anywhere except on the flatlands.

Hot Water Drain Plug Size?

Does anyone happen to know the socket size of the hot water drain plug?

It's a little tough to get to.

I managed to get a TCL 43S405 43-Inch in my 18TO. Which would have fit perfect if the mounting versa bracket was not at the base of the TV. So in order to make this work I had to drill a piece of sheet metal. Placing the "PAW International RV TV Bracket" near the top of the TV and screwing the bottom of the plate to the TV versa mount.

It does require me to pull it off the wall to change USB drives or plugs. Which is a bit of a pain, but otherwise love it.
