Yamaha EF2000iS Parallel generator trouble.
We are Newbies and hooked up our 2 Yamaha EF2000iS generators with the Parallel Connectors. We ran our AC for just a few minutes and the generator stops producing power and the Overload light comes on. We have a Grey Wolf ToyHauler. We have the refrigerator turned off, are there other things we need to shut down to run the generator? Is there a special sequence or connection we need need to follow when we start the generators. This is all new to us so we appreciate any advise.

That's a strange problem. I don't think the Grey Wolf has an electric water heater. Is there any AC item other than the air conditioning, microwave, converter, refer and television? I can run my entire trailer without overloading a pair of Honda 2k, which are about the same units, and it works fine unless someone fires up a toaster or hair dryer, etc.
Do both Yamahas speed up to full power when a load is applied? If not then the parallel cable is faulty. If they do then there has to be one or more items in the trailer faulty enough to cause the problem, and that's not good even if hooked up to shore power.

How do you set the Water Heater to propane only? Don't think that was covered in our walk around at the dealer.

Grey wolf does have electric and propane water heater. make sure its turned off. switch in inside the water heater cover.
I have the same gen and a 15KAC, works fine.
make sure to have the gen running at full speed before turning on AC, dont have gen on low speed. I dont remember what the switch is marked on the gen, but it need to be running fast.

There should be a rocker switch in the water heater compartment. Turn it "off' and then turn on your propane water heater switch on your control panel.

this past weekend I had my overload light come on and turn off power on my genset... happened several times... turned out to be a little water in the gas that caused the gen to cough and sputter which then caused the overload/trip condition...
I added some gas treatment to the tank and let genset run for 30 minutes without a load on it... then it was good for the rest of the tank of gas
I need to store genset with gas in the tank... metal tanks like in mine sweat with fluctuations in the temps/humidity and contaminate gas put into it

Whay's your altitude that you are having problems
Sounds like altitude! Yahamas are factory jetted carbs to function properly ay 0 to 4000 ft. If you are living or camping higher than that you may be running too rich and need to take ihe pair in to a Yahama service center to be rejetted to a leaner jet usually 2 sizes smaller.
Im at 4100 feet mine work in my driveway to porer my 1350 w air but do exactly what you are experiencing once I get to about 6000 ft. altitude at camp. We camp between 6 and 8,000 Ft regularly.

Also...the TV amplifier uses power. Turn off the amp (switch next to the antenna connector). Also the fridge will often automatically switch to Electric when it detects power. I thought ours was on gas only, only to find it switching over to power when I didn't want it to.

We had the same thing happen on our last trip. Then went to a full hook up site for a night and everything worked. We were so confused and thankful that nothing was broken or ruined. Then my husband read in the manual for the yamaha that altitude needs to be adjusted. We were at 6000 feet most of our trip. So I'm assuming that was the problem and we'll be looking in to how to adjust for altitude.
