10 best upgrades

We have had a 2006 Dynaquest 32 st since new and these are the modifications /upgrades that have past the test of time. We live in the unit 4 to 6 months a year and have over 100K miles. Starting at the front.

1-outside window covers for both side windows and the windshield. Custom made at the campsite many years ago.

2-Satellite radio came with the unit and transmitted to the dash radio via a whole house fm transmitter. Worked great while stationary but not too good while traveling. Finding an empty frequency changed from town to town so I used the aux port on the dash radio and the satellite radio. Now we listen to satellite radio via the video 2 port on the dash radio while driving and can reconnect the whole house transmitter while stationary or at home.

3-added a center console using the 2 existing bolts under the dash and some scrape plywood and a plastic bin. instant center console on the cheap.

4- replaced the air bed sofa with high end stressless chairs and a small center table. Wife was too short to sit comfortably on the sofa and she got a small chair- the momma bear chair and I got the matching popa bear chair. Both recline and swivel and the foot stools can be used as extra chairs if needed.

5-12 volt compressor refrigerator replaced the old but not dead yet propane unit last summer. Went from a 6 cu ft unit to a 10 cu ft in the same wall space. Can you say 'ice cream'.

6-Sleep number bed short queen. I'm a 65 and wife is a 35. Great addition, Heated matress pad doesn't hurt either. It sometimes gets below freezing in Tucson in January.

7- Short queen extension for sleep number bed. 9 inches thick by 6 inches longer. Made my own from an old styrofoam cooler, a bit foam and a half sheet of 1/4 " plywood. Extend the bedroom side, pull out the plywood extensions, add the spacer under the matress pad and fitted sheet. Presto - queen size bed. No more sleeping on the diagonal.

8- 2.5 to 2 inch reciever hitch insert. I finally welded the insert into place after adding two bolt tightening tabs. Now the tow bar is finally attached frimly to the rv. No more bouncing around.

9- Exterior I've been using Jet Seal from the chemical guys for the last 10 years Great stuff but maybe the ceramic coating have finally caught up.

10-Other I have had very poor luck with flow thru tire sensors. In 5 years I only had one trip that didn't have a sensor failure of one kind or another. Switched to EZ tire brand and have had no more issues. The hooded black water sensors aren't much better than the button sensor.

Forums are a great place to share ideas - not just complain about one thing or another so if you see a new looking old dynaquest with big driving lights-
wave or toot that me.

Found this Husky for the 3" : 2" hitch adaptor : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I didn't like messing with the common 3" : 2 1/2" and then 2 1/2" : 2" additional insert. The one piece has less play.

I have the Bolt lock system for my Toad, a 2019 Jeep Cherokee (KL). So the pins and tow bar are all unlocked with the Jeep ignition key. You can find a pin that works with that system at : https://genyhitch.com/product/bolt-hitch-lock-2/

I also needed something for the 3" > 2" reduction and went with this Reese option: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001TNHANM...roduct_details

I'm not sure how I missed the Bolt version locking pin. I have genyhitch's infinaterule locking pin (can't be key'd). I think I will make the switch so I don't have multiple keys.

It's a Key reduction !

Carrying around too many keys is a PITA. Then hunting for the correct one is also aggravating. Someday I may work on getting 1 key for all the other access doors. Plus the storage door locks that came with the coach seem like they don't play well with the keys that came with the coach. Wiggle and turn.

I like the shorter Husky. But it's just my personal preference.

I have a lifetime+ supply of hitch pins and other towing parts.

Here’s another alternative for the 3” to 2” reducer sleeve.

https://www.moonlightdiesel.com/prod...ter-6-7l-11-17

I went with this one due to the tight fit and noise reduction. It is very tight going in. Needed a little rubber mallet help. Used it for about 7000 miles so far and it has been great.

Did you bore the pin hole to 3/4" or have someone do it?

Mine came with a 3/4 pin hole. Did not drill it.
