2013 Kia Soul Manual Trans - Flat Tow

Have Isata 3, looking at 2013 Kia Soul - FWD, manual transmission for flat towing. Anyone have any experience towing a Kia Soul?

Thanks,

No experience with that vehicle, but the owners manual would be the first place to check and see if you can. Look under towing.

Thanks. That was my understanding, too. I even double checked with person who'll install tow bar and he said same thing. HOWEVER, everything I can find online says it can be. I even contacted eTrailer and they said the same thing - should be flat towable. Here is what i think i need to check - is this the actual Manual which came with vehicle? The car is at CarMax. The manual looked brand new, not as if it was 11 years old. Will check tomorrow. Some 2013 KIA are not towable, but according to what I read a FWD, manual transmission is and that is what this vehicle is...
Thanks for the input!

I'm looking at using an older Soul as a TOAD as well. I have not towed a Soul myself but I've spoke with folks who are doing it. The only issue is the battery going dead due to the key must be in the ACC position. A charge line from the motorhome will solve that issue.

I've attached a TSB from KIA on flat towing that should answer most of your questions.

ALMOST ALL, and I’ll repeat, ALMOST ALL manual transmission vehicles can be flat towed. The internal workings of MOST manual transmissions are simple enough to endure flat towing. The Dingy Guides such as

https://www.roadmasterinc.com/media/dinghy-guides/

are almost always addressing the vehicles with automatic transmissions year after year. As always…..read the fine print of your Owner’s Manual to know your vehicle for sure.

I believe Toyota is one that says no flat towing.

Also, there are that can be flat towed, but will also require you stop every so often and start the vehicle for a certain period of time. Others, you don't have to.
