2020 Isata 3 7 way dead

Hey everyone, beautiful weather in the Northeast and I broke out our new Isata 3 and hooked up or Jeep only to find the way on the rear of the coach is dead. Looked around and could only find a fuse panel on the side of the drivers seat and all were good. Any ideas how the 7 way is wired in? trying to avoid a trip to the dealer but its looking like it may be inevitable.

It’s Sunday, so Brian might have taken the day off.
You’ll come to see who I mean.

Some others might chime in here shortly.
Stay tuned.

You might want to add your details for your Isata and toad in your signature like mine. It helps when you post questions.

I think some of it might be powered by an inline fuse under the drivers seat, but farther back in.

If you are referring to the 12 v wire that is there to charge towed vehicle battery, sometimes this is fed from a fusible link rather than a fuse or circuit breaker. Fusible links are usually in a block attached to the positive terminal of the battery.

Did you look underneath and make sure the trailer harness extension is plugged in to the factory trailer connector up under the frame. An extension harness is usually used when the Sprinter frame is extended for an RV.

Also the '19 chassis is finicky, it senses a trailer is connected and alters some of the safety systems as well as asking if you want the nav to avoid routes where a trailer could cause issues. Try starting the rig then plugging in the connector.

Who wired the brake controller for the 7-way? Was it working before it went into storage?

Just took delivery of the coach in February. Brand new . Went to plug into our Jeep and no lights so I checked the 7 way with a test light and nothing on all 6 terminals.

We just had one recently where someone plugged in a jeep and back feed from the charge line caused issues with the 7-way. Wasn't supposed to be there. I don't think that is the same thing...but throwing it out there so we're not leaving anything to chance. I'll see if I can figure out where the fuse is.

Also...what radio do you have? Is the Mercedes version? or Kenwood? That will tell me if you have a 2018 or 2019 chassis.

thank you sir....I have not hooked up a charge line yet in fear I would backfeed the coach. looking at charger options first to keep this line isolated. We have the 2019.5 chassis with the MBUX

That simplifies things. On the new chassis we buy that from Mercedes...so it is ALL OEM Mercedes. They leave us slack and we just untie it and bring it to the rear.

Is it JUST the 7-way? or have you lost rear lights as well?

This video is for a 2018 and up wrangler, gives you a chance to trace the wires.

Thank Brian. I found the 10 pin connector at the 7 way plug lock was engaged but the connector was not seated all the way. Removed the lock and connector and reinserted. Installed lock. now I have running, stop and turn lights out put from the 7 way but no 12V. Will look at the PDF you sent and research further. When a unit leaves the plant are the 7 way's tested at all?

We have a plug tester that is supposed to be part of the inspection process.

You won't have 12V until there is a brake controller (if I am not mistaken)

I had live 12v from the start on pin 4. I hooked it to my trickle charger on the toad. There is a blue wire on pin 2 for trailer brakes. I never hooked that up but thought at one time I would use it to signal the toad brakes were engaged.

This was on a 2017 Isata3, so the 2019 chassis may be different.
