2020 ISATA 5 service electronic brakes

Has anyone else been experiencing the random service electronic brakes message? I'm on a 2018 chassis, it started a couple months back. One trip it won't show at all then on my way home last month it was almost consistent. renders the cruise control inoperative which is the biggest pain. Anyone in Oklahoma know of a Dodge dealer with a large enough bay to service a 36DS?

I think you mean ESC - Electronic Stability Control. I have had the same issue multiple times and currently working on a resolution.

My steering wheel is off center and I was thinking that was the problem, but others have posted over on FB they have the same issues and without the steering wheel issue. At least one had a sensor in the steering wheel replaced under warranty.

Yes I have that problem now! I was driving from Indiana to Arizona when I was only a few hrs from my destination when my cruise control quit. I look and saw that ESC light on. Found dealer in the Phoenix area and have an appointment next week. Did some research on line and the Ram Forum group and this seams to be a common complaint. More so with the 2019. Dealer told me that I may have to pay $160 for the diagnosis because it's has a modified chassis. I told him He's full of S__T ! The chassis has less then 6,500. miles. Ram WILL take care of this. There's no way Dynamax would alter or "tap" into this system! I'll let you know the out come next week

When my jeep does this it's because of a bad speed sensor. May be worth a look to see if you see any pinched wires or anything. Code readers that can read ABS codes should also be able to tell you what's going on.

Service Antilock Braking System

I had my first ABS “Service Antilock Braking System” display warning on my 2018 Isata 5 at 14,800 miles. It went off by itself and intermittently went off and on for the next 4000 miles. As others have experienced, each time the warning came on the cruise control was disabled. To make matters worse, no fault code ever showed up in the system. I had both front wheel speed sensors replaced (recommended by a Ram dealer) but the problem continued. Finally at 19,000 miles the warning light came on and stayed on and produced fault code C0020-01 in the ABS control module. The dealer replaced the ABS HCU (Hydraulic Control Module), Ram part number 68195569AA, and pressure bled the ABS system. So far I have had no more issues.

Appreciate the feedback so far, I'll have to look into the module. Should be something we can tackle ourselves. Like the vast majority on here I despise taking my equipment to a dealer.

You are correct, that is the same message I'm getting. Couldn't actually remember the correct phrasing. My steering wheel is off a bit as well. I don't think dodge has ever figured this out. My "06" 3500 has been off since day 1 until my latest alignment, he finally put in the effort to set it right.

I received the ABS HCU (Hydraulic Control Module), Ram part number 68195569AA. Haven't had time to install yet and it's heading to the dealer today to get the new slide controllers installed. Prolly won't see it to after the new year. This is not the dealer where I purchased it in TX, just one of the local Forest River dealers. Been reading some of the Ram forums, I'm surprised every one of us hasn't seen this issue. GPCruieser, how'd you make out?

Finally got around to installing the new module. Had a hard fail indication after the last road trip versus the intermittent up to that point. Install took about 2 hours. Took a 30 mile test drive with half of it on I-40 in OK, that should have been rough enough to trigger a failure. So far it seems to have cured the issue. Keeping fingers crossed it doesn't reappear as we're headed to Savannah. That'll be a long haul with no cruise......

Just got back from my local RAM Dealer this morning and my module was also the problem with the random ABS issues and the cruise dropping out. I was told my module showed additional signs of starting to melt....Not good.
The good news is they will have the part tomorrow and it will be repaired this coming Monday at no cost to me.

Well, finally got it out on the road after installing the new module. OKC to Savannah and not a glitch. Seems like the fix was a solid kill. See y’all at the rally.
