2021 Dynamax Isata 5 30FW Receiver Hitch

We are planning to pick up a new 30FW this April (currently on order) and are having some difficulty in determining the exact specs for the receiver hitch on this RV. We know it has a 10,000lb towing capacity, but havent found the class and exact size for the hitch (i.e. 2.5, 3, class IV, class V, etc.). If someone knows or has a link to these exact specs would you be so kind as to supply it for us? Thank you

It’s a 2” receiver and is 21” from the ground. Not sure if it’s a Class 3 hitch so somebody else may chime in. I use a 6” drop down hitch to tow our Honda CR-V.

Also, uses a 5/8” pin. I use these to secure my tow bar.

Thanks miklman55. For some reason I thought it had a larger ID so knowing it is 2 helps me out a lot. Thanks.

Even if the hitch is rated to 10K, make sure you know what tongue weight it is rated for and how all of that affects the GVW of the rig. On the big M2 chassis with its massive hitch, Dynamax says maximum recommended tongue weight is 2K.

Has 2" receiver and here are the specs on mine, just took picture. I have a 36DS but should be same. Height someone mentioned above is about right. I tow a Ram 1500 Limited with no drop hitch. Funny, pic is right side up on my computer.

Does not mention weight distribution on the tongue weight like most hitches so I can only assume 500lbs is ok without WD. Either way any tongue weight over 300 is too much for me (even if weight distributed) because of OCCC. Toad adds minuscule tongue weight so that's good.

It's inverted on my computer, not sure how it ended upside down.

These may seem like odd questions, but did you take the photo with an iPad or iPhone? Are you left handed?

iPhone at awkward angle so dominant hand is irrelevant. right handed by the way

What I meant is on phone and computer the picture is upright, not upside down.

His question was serious

The question you were asked is relevant. Phones and cameras only take pictures natively in one direction. They scan the image sensor line-by-line just like your old CRT TV rendered its picture. The (jpg/gif/png) image includes a tag that tells the web browser or image program how the camera was held, and hence which way to rotate the image when rendering it. That's why it looks good on the computer.

The rotation data (and GPS coordinates where the image was taken and camera type, lens, and settings) are all stored in a part of the file called EXIF.

This site strips the image data to (1) make the file smaller, and (2) strip out the privacy data like GPS location where the picture was taken.

The only way to avoid rotation when loading pictures to this site is to hold the camera in its native rotation, where no rotation is needed by the receiver. With a REAL camera, you must hold it with the viewfinder on top. With a phone or tablet, you must hold it with the button on the right.

I'm webmaster of another site that does this and I am really tired of typing this explanation.

Dominant hand was irrelevant due to the location of the camera under my rear fascia at an awkward angle to take that picture. Again, right handed.

Did not ask you to explain it.

Thanks for flipping it.

Now back to the OP's subject...
