What is a super single steer? Whenever a larger then designed tire and wheel are installed you need to check the geometry of the front end to ensure there is no rubbing at extreme angles and the tracking is still the same. I'm assuming you are talking about the steer axle. JMHO

Super single is referring to replacing your rear duals with a single tire and wheel combo. Not generally used on the steer axle unless truck is designed to have very large tires on the steer (clearance for fender, suspension, and larger steer components).

Note: Super singles on the rear are also lousy on slush and snow covered roads.

This is what I think of when I think of the wide front tires on a semi:

I know it's not the same model Freightliner, and it doesn't have super singles in the rear, but, wonder if that's the look the OP is looking for??

And ya, I bet they'd stink in the winter, and hydroplane much easier.

I suspect you are correct!

Those are designed to have that size tire on the front. Snow plows also have that but they also have 18000 or 20000 front axles not a 12000 like ours.
