So, back to the original post. White/Black or "you pick and DIY".
Chrome, blue, teal...you can paint your shroud any color you would like.

So flash forward to today, some A/C companies are starting to use "high gloss" shrouds that seem to look better, white or black.
The question is, if you have full body paint....would you be OK with a white shroud? I just think with the heat, maybe a black shroud, while aesthetically pleasing, might not make the most sense, functionally speaking?
High Gloss White, High Gloss Black, don't care? Or I don't think it makes the A/C work any better.

I vote white, and a white roof, reflects heat, we need all the help we can get with that issue. Personally I do not think black is attractive on everything and am getting tired of the dull colors that are only thing offered these days on interiors, or exteriors. Really the a/c unit is not the thing I go around looking to see if it matches the other trim on the unit. In fact I rarely look above my natural line of site at a rig. Go practical, I'm not trying to "keep up with the Jones'" , I am doing what I consider inside my comfort zone.

A lot say white because the roof is white but possibly people are forgetting…you can’t see the roof from ground level! All you see is the AC units! So if they were white it would look out of place on a dark colored coach.
Now, if the coach was blue and white, then yes…they would match right in being white.
White ac covers on my dark colored DX3 would look horrible.

Another reason for painting is to protect the plastic from uv damage.

I have to assume the condenser potion of the unit must have better heat transfer in white than black. I never understood the black shroud due to the added heat of the sun "cooking" the unit.
