Air conditioning unit with missing back panel

We noticed recently that the back panel of the rooftop a/c unit had come off. Now the blue coils are visible. This is the side you would look directly at if standing behind the unit. Does anyone know if it is harmful to drive that way? we are leaving on a 3 week trip and the local service provider is awful about getting anything done. They won't even look at it for several weeks.

Or we could try to order one from Dynamax and install ourselves This is a Dynamax Isata 3 2018

Are you sure there was a panel? I don't think mine is covered.

picture? I don't think it would cause any issues. I think most of those covers are just to make it look pretty.

Blue coils visible/missing panel

I have never seen the blue coils before. They really stand out.

I'd ask if you had taken a little blue pill about an hour before you looked at it, but you're not of the correct gender persuasion for that to apply.

As BC said, it won't hurt anything for the cover to not be there. Just be careful not to back into a limb or anything (not that the cover would help).

You do not want any restriction from air going thru those coils. Walk around any restaurant and look at all the refrigeration equipment running with no covers what so ever. Exposed on the front side. (direction of travel) you must have a cover for protection.
