Air leakdown
How long does it take for y'alls air system to leak down? I feel like mine is down in the red area with 2-3 days of sitting. Definitely within a week.
It's not really a big deal to let it air back up the first time after starting, but that feels a bit quick. I don't remember it being that quick last year.
Something I should have looked at?

If you get very concerned then I'd have a Freightliner dealer check that for you. That's one thing you don't want to loose on the road traveling.

Yeah once up an running it functions perfectly normal. Never get anywhere near concerned when driving so I figured if anything it may be a minuscule leak that would be near impossible to track down.
Glad to hear yours is the same.

My new Force HD is about the same - it will be in the red after a week of sitting. Sounds like that's about normal.

Same, after a week it takes a fee to air up and stop the alarm

same,
2-3 days. Questioned the service manager at Freightliner Indianapolis and he stated that this is 100% normal. You could chase small leaks for years. The compressor is capable of keeping up with them while running without issue.

I don't know what is considered acceptable in terms of an air leak. There are DOT standards for single and combination vehicles. My suggestion would be to time how long it takes your system to bleed out so you have some baseline to compare it to later on. The compressors on these rigs will always keep up as they are gear driven so it's always running. There are so many places they can leak from which is why I suggest you determine your baseline

Actually, I had mine at the house this weekend and drove it both sat and sun. Mine only holds for a few hours. Parked for anything over 6 hrs the air is down to 0.

Again I don't know what Freightliner considers acceptable but I would get some soapy solution and start tracking down your leak(s).

Oh wow that's definitely quicker than mine.
One other thing I did realize is that the height control valves are probably dumping a bunch of air when the jacks raise the rear end up and it thinks they're too high. That may have something to do with the variability sometimes.

rsqcon the DOT rate is 2psi/min. We're nowhere near that, just more of a comparison conversation.

FOURWHL that is correct or 3 psi on a combination. Still I am around heavy apparatus for my work. If we were at zero after 24 hours we would be concerned but you are correct on the DOT requirement.

This is true for me as well - after leveling, if the rear is raised enough, I can hear the air leaking out and it will be gone in no time.

Mine used to take a week or so to air down, but recently I noticed it only took a few hours. I took it in to Freightliner for a different issue and had them look at this too.
Turns out there is a water drain valve on each air tank that automatically drains water when necessary. That drain valve apparently had some junk in it and was leaking. He just worked in manually a few times and it cleared.
So that's something to check if yours airs down really fast.

No, but I asked how he did and he said "You just push the thing up with your finger"
So, I guess you can do it by hand (no tools) and it seemed fairly obvious once you're looking at it - it was raining so I didn't climb under there yet to check it out myself.
