Any adjustments on the flip up couch?

Isata 5 DS. My couch has two flip up foot rests. One works fine the other side sometimes seems to hang up and not want to go back down. No matter how hard you push, it doesn't move. Get off of it and look around and seen nothing it could be hanging up on, get back on it and then it works. Sometimes. Question: Is there an adjustment somewhere in the mechanism to make it easier to retract? Maybe a friction adjustment like you'll see on a Lazy Boy chair? Anyone out there experience this?

You sort of have to pull with your heel. If pushing down, made them go down, they wouldn’t stay up. So the sort of lock there. So if you pull towards yourself while pushing down, that normally does it. It can be tricky.

Agree with the pulling of the heel. On one side my wife can do it(she's short, can't get her heels there) but on the other side too hard. Today I will play with the heel technique on the really hard side. I also figured out that if I push down on one of the levers near the foot pad it will cause it to close. I'm thinking once it gets some use it'll be easier.

I have the same problem on my Isata 5. My wife can get the footrest to go down easier than I can. She told me maybe I weigh too much for the chair. Can you imagine that? Anyway I'll try pushing down with my heels

I am small and have a hard time getting them to go down, also. For me, what works is I grab the bar just above the foot pad part and pull up while pushing down on the pad with my feet/lower legs. That's about the only way I can get them to go back down.
