Any other head unit choices with carplay for DX3?
I'm sure any double din unit will fit but is there a "go to" unit everyone is using?
I want carplay in it...
Thanks,
Mark

The Kenwood we use today works pretty good. A-A-Ron was the first to use it. We have the next version and also one that comes with Garmin Truck GPS.

We use two. Both are CarPlay.
I don't remember which version is the standard...we have about 3 model numbers for that as I think they have been updated a few times.
The optional one is CarPlay, but also has Garmin RV Nav. That one I know as I just spent a week with it....DNX775RVS Pretty nice system and the Truck nav I highly recommend if you are in an M2.

Besides wanting to upgrade to one with Nav, do any of them have a mute button?
The non-nav kenwood I have is a pain to hit the down volume button 20 or so times when I or the passenger take a call or need to talk to the rear passengers. Then I have to push the up-volume 20 or so times again to go back to the previous sound level.

Also, one with "Android Auto" version of Car Play would be nice. Anyone know of one with that and nav and mute button?

The manual has most of the information you are requesting.
I think I recall just holding the volume button down and it increases speed. But page 6 of the manual says to press and hold the MENU button for 1 second to turn volume off.
As for your other question. This Kenwood radio IS Apple CarPlay and Andoid Auto. Connect your iPhone to the "Black" cable. (Page 22 of the manual)
I think Android Auto needs to be connected to the GRAY cable. info starts on page 23.
The manual is attached here, on the flash drive, and also should be in the online owners manual as an attachment, as well as hard copy in the black folder with the appliances manuals

What, you want us to read manuals!?
The menu button sortof works. It doesn't mute it but does turn the volume down a lot. Problem is it's a tiny little button the same as all the buttons near it so hard to hit quickly while watching the road.
Q - Is it easy to upgrade from the stock non-nav kenwood to the new nav kenwood (model #DNX775RVS) ? Just plug and play or is there going to me more work than that?

The two radios are plug and play.

How do you mute it? Anything you don't like about it?

Ultimate RV Nav/Entertainment system
Check this one out. Upto 4 cameras, huge screen, backup camera audio, RV dimension specific routing, voice control, interfaces with RV/Coach network, yadda, yadda, yadda
Garmin RV-IN1501
Only one small problem, I don't think it actually exists yet. Or at least I can't find it for sale anywhere.

I called Garmin, RV division, about that $3k unit. It's not being sold retail. Right now, if you want one, you have to buy a Thor Jayco MH with one in it as Thor is their only customer for that high end radio.
Far be it from me to try to tell FR how to run their business but Thor definitely has a leg up on FR with this unit.
Guess I'll just get the Kenwood DNX775RVS as it's the only other one I can find with the RV height and weight routing.
