Aqua hot

I have a 2019 DX3 with a AH400D. This is a diesel unit. l use the electric side for hot water all the time but have only used the diesel side a couple of times as we don't generally camp when its use is required.

I was testing everything out today and decided to run the heat from the AH so I fired the diesel and the electric side up. Everything seems to be working ok so I stepped out for a bit. When I came back in the inside was foggy. This has happened the couple of other times I have run the AH heat. There is no smell, its not "wet" just foggy. I understand how the AH works but can't understand how the inside can be foggy.

Any experience with this or insights?

Thanks,

Mike

I'm guessing that when you turn on the AH and call for heat at the same time, the coolant that circulates is below the dewpoint temperature of the indoor air. This will slightly cool the indoor air and force the moisture out of the indoor air. Creating fog.
Maybe try turning on the diesel AH for a full cycle, about 20 to 30 minutes, then turn on the thermostat and call for heat. The AH will then almost immediately circulate hot coolant not causing condensation of the moist indoor air.

Good sleuthing...

I would echo what was said in the other thread from April. Reach out to Aqua-Hot directly. It appears no one else has had this issue and I've never heard of it in the 6 years I have been running AH systems.

Would love to hear the solution though.

Sean from Performance believes it has not been run long enough to burn off any residual material from the initial installation. I am going to let it run for a longer period of time and see if that fixes it.

I'll report back
