Aquahot motoraid?

Does the aquahot 400d have the motoraid in our DX3s?

Chuck, if you mean the "Engine Preheat" option. Mine does not. If you go to page 41 in the service manual, it tell you that the 400 does not have that function.
I think the 450 offered on the Dynaquest has that function.

Nor does mine. But I bet you could add it after the fact. The 400d has another zone available in the electronics. Instead of an in-house heat exchanger, it has to use some form of exchanger where it circulates Aquahot liquid around a chamber that has engine coolant in it. You would plumb this up to the engine. All it does is circulate heated liquid (I assume for the engine this would the engine ant-freeze). I don't know if it uses engine water pump pressure to circulate or if you add a separate pump which the Aquahot can control. Most likely a separate pump since you want this to circulate when the engine is cold and not running.

I think this would also offer the benefit of using engine heat when driving down the road to help heat the AH liquid so it doesn't have to run the burner quite so often if you want to heat the house while going down the road.

You can probably ask AH if you can buy a kit to add this functionality to the 400d.
