I have the AquaHot 450D with the diesel fuel source instead of propane.
However, I had a similar issue where only my electric mode was working. I found this RV tech on YouTube and he explained exactly how to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair the unit with a diesel feed.

He was exactly correct and all I needed was to change the fuel nozzle (just a few dollars) in the burner. I also change the diesel fuel filter, cleaned the burner and checked and slightly adjusted the electrodes. There is an electrode gauge included on the AquaHot burner to use as a reference. This is part of the annual service you should do anyway.
It was very easy (in my configuration and unit orientation to gain access to the burner for removal). I also have the solid fuel lines. Everything came apart and went back together very easily without any issues.
If you are handy and safe along with solid attention to detail (take pictures before you take it apart), you can check it out and solve it your self. If not, I suggest having a service tech do the work. I have no idea if the propane unit operates the same or has the same fuel nozzle that needs to be changed each year. I recommend checking out the RV tech channel videos to see if he has a propane version. I didn't check.
Good luck. Totally bites not to have hot water when you need it.
Cheers,
