auto door locks

When I push the auto door lock button on the key fob, along with the doors locking/unlocking, I also hear a selonoid or relay click near the side door area. Any idea what that is engaging/disengaging?

Well without knowing the vehicle I would guess the fuel door.

Since this is posted in the Dynamax forum, one would have to assume the OP is talking about the Isata 3 in the sig line.

I understand this, but I’m sure those with fifth wheels aren’t starting new topics in the Dynamax Forum (unless they want to talk about a Dynamax) to talk about their fifth wheel. They may jump into an already-active thread that was started in the Dynamax Forum because they saw the thread listed in the “Recent Discussions” list on their browser which doesn’t make it immediately apparent which sub-forum the topic resides.

This topic was posted in the “Dynamax” sub-forum by a Member who owns an Isata 3 and has it listed on the signature line. Now, if the OP had started this topic in the “General” forum, or any other sub-forum, that would be another thing.

... and we have members who highjack the threads of others with barely related questions.

I've seen the 5'r guys start threads on here with a question, it happens, they are just asking for help. And most all here respond with a kind answer, when they get too specific about their model and issues that have nothing to do with Dynamax products BC is pretty good at fielding those messages. And directing them back to the appropriate FROG subgroup.

I will second that. Also signature line does not appear when using the FRF app.

... although on the FRF app, you can usually touch the member's name or avatar and the member's profile info and signature lines will appear.

Yep, i use the FR app and simply touched your name, Delco, and your profile came up with your Sig line at the bottom.

Also, the FR app displays which sub-forum a post is in on any page you view.

I don’t doubt that, maybe, once or twice, those 5’r guys have started a topic in the Dynamax sub-forum—probably in error. You say “they are just looking for help” and “most here respond with a kind answer” and “BC is pretty good at fielding those messages. And directing them back to the appropriate FROG subgroup”.

Do you realize how that sounds? If not, I will tell you that it sounds self-righteous and elitist. You make it sound as though some poor soul who doesn’t own a Dynamax product felt the need to start a thread in the Dynamax sub-forum instead of the correct “5’r” sub-forum because he wouldn’t be able to get the help he needed elsewhere and he may not be treated as kindly as he would be in the Dynamax sub-forum. Then, after the good people in the Dynamax sub-forum give the advice that only they are kind enough to give, the lowly “5’r guy” is sent packing back to the sub-forum where he belongs by BC.

I have looked on the Dynamax sub-forum for many pages and I cannot find any topics started by any Member who is not a Dynamax owner. Nor can I find any topics where BC or any of the Site Team have moved such a thread.

JMHO,

Bruce

Site Team Note:

OK... this thread has been profusely high-jacked. Let's get back to the thread topic "auto door locks". Please don't force the closing of this thread because of sub-forum turf wars.

I have a 2017 Isata 3 and only the doors on the Sprinter make any sound when using the key fob. Don’t know if they changed anything for the 2018 model year.

Sorry I ask

Thanks Milkman for the reply that dealt with my question. I didn't realize a simple question was going to upset so many. Ill try to make sure I choose my questions more carefully and thoroughly in the future.

I have no MH.. if it's a Ford chassis you can program the remote to do various things on lock/unlock with the remote.

I don’t believe your question upset anybody. Your question was presented well and all of the information anybody might need to answer it was provided by you. You posted in the (correct) Dynamax sub-forum because you had a Dynamax-related question and you have your Dynamax model and its model year listed in your profile and in your signature line—this is all of the information anybody should need to help you with your question. It was obvious you were asking a question related to your 2018 Dynamax Isata 3 FW.

Then, somebody came along without paying attention to where you posted your question and did not take the time to either read your signature line, or look at your profile to determine which RV you were referring to, posting a shot in the dark at what the answer to your question might be.

The point of my initial post in this thread was to make it more obvious to others which RV you were taking about and to point out that you had already provided this information.

Bruce

wow....that escalated quickly.

I get what you were saying Casey and I did not read your post as "self-righteous" or elitist.

It actually seemed like to me, that you were somewhat defending the guy that posted the comment and did not read the signature. A nice and noble thing to do when they may or may not have understood how to use the forum.

In any case...

To answer the original question...I know of nothing, unless it "seems" to be coming from the side door. We don't tie into the chassis door lock wiring for anything that we do.
