Bedroom TV Sound not Working

My 3rd Thread... New to Dynamax and new to the forum. Appreciate all of the help thus far.

As I continue to make use of my increased free time of late getting familiar with my new to me 2017 24FW, I have noticed that when playing a DVD via the Jensen entertainment center, I have sound in the front tv, sound with the entertainment system via all the speakers accessed using the A, B or C buttons, but no sound with the bedroom TV. I can absolutely just make use of the sound via the entertainment system when watching TV in the bedroom, but would like to get the TV's internal speakers working, if at all possible.

My first thought was that perhaps the red and white RCA jacks were not connected, but they all look good on the bedroom TV end. Looks like the DVD is routed to the TVs via Component source / RCA wires. I have not pulled the radio yet to see if perhaps the sound wires have become disconnected.

The more plausible explanation is probably that I am just doing something wrong. Having to learn how everything works on my own. Any suggestions?

This is where it would have been nice to have an informed walk thru at a dealer on how everything works...assuming the sales person was informed themselves.

Thanks again to all of you for your help in educating a Dynamax Newbie...Much Appreciated.

If there is no sound...I would check to see if maybe the TV speakers themselves are turned off.

I was so hopeful that my problem was that simple, but no such luck. The TV Speakers were set to ON in the TV Menu settings.

Any other suggestions?
Thanks

So I assume when you are playing "Over the air" TV then you are getting sound out of the bedroom TV?

If that is the case and it is not working when on DVD, then it is likely a loose connection somewhere from the DVD player to the TV itself. While the connections may be fine at the TV, they could be loose at the radio itself. You would have to pull that to check.

Here is the interactive manual...I'm not sure which Jensen version you have, but the rear panel of it will show which connections are audio ouput.

Sadly, I haven't figured out how to get over the air TV to play yet or for that matter park cable. Is there an interactive video or link that describes how to access the different sources?

All I have been able to get working thus far is the DVD on both TVs (wo bedroom TV sound as mentioned in initial post) and Direct TV (SD) on the main (front) TV. I am assuming if I had the Wally from dish, I could plug the HDMI cable (that goes to the bedroom TV) into it and would have Dish in the bedroom, but only guessing that.

As for the bedroom tv, when I switch to the different sources, I can hear static in the speakers and so I am pretty sure the TV speakers are operational.

Going to pull the Jensen entertainment unit now to verify the RCA jacks are all plugged in properly.

As for over the air tv, when I tried it I set the TV source to TV, pushed in the winegard switch by the door and then turned on the attenuator on the King antenna and tried rotating the antenna. Tried changing to a number of channels, but got no reception. I am probably doing something wrong?

Thanks for bearing with this newbie...

This covers some of the AV, but with the matrix which you likely don't have...but, I think I go over OTA.

Antenna is ON for OTA, OFF for park cable.

Did you scan for channels??? You have to do that before the TV will work OTA.

Hi Brian,
Thanks so much for the video link. Had no idea I needed to select between Air and Cable and to scan. Both TVs work with OTA and both have sound while connected to OTA. Assuming it will also work for cable when selected and connected to park cable. The TVs were selected to cable when I went into the Menu settings, which is why I had no OTA initially.

As for my original concern, I still have no sound from the bedroom TV when connected to the DVD player. I pulled the Jensen entertainment system out and all 3 RCA jacks from the bedroom TV are connected. I removed and reinserted them just to confirm the connection. I also connected the Bedroom TV to the entertainment system via a different set of RCA cables wo any change in the results. See pic for RCA jacks that the cables are connected to.

Any other suggestions. As mentioned, at least I can use the sound in the coach speakers if I need to, but would like to figure this out if possible.

Re coach entertainment system speakers A appears to be for the coach, B appears to be the outside speakers on passenger side. What does C operate if anything? Assuming nothing in the Isata 3?

Thanks again for all your help. Much appreciate all the support... Nice to put a face to the name as well.

If that is the bedroom TV, then those are correct. As for the Jensen, I assume they were in the correct ports (audio out for the Jensen).

Also, On the "Audio Out:" used the "Fixed" out. that way the TV volume controls the volume, not the radio.

make sure the fader did not fade the audio in any way. (though I think that only applies to the speaker outputs on the Jensen, not audio out).

And correct.
A: living area
B: outside
C: unused.

lastly, if you read the Jensen manual..it looks like there is a setting in there for the Jensen audio OUT.

Slight delay in following up on this post as I was changing my fuel filter this afternoon...

Problem with the Bedroom TV speakers (no sound with DVD) resolved. Thanks Brian. ...and yes that was a pic of the bedroom TV.

The audio (red/wht) RCA jacks in the back of the entertainment unit were plugged in to the variable output jacks rather than the Fixed. Switched the cables to the Fixed ports and now have sound in bedroom TV when the DVD is playing. Yaaay!!!

No idea why the RCA cables from the bedroom TV may have been plugged into the variable jacks. Can you please explain the difference between the variable jacks vs the Fixed.

Have another question. What else is new...

When I turn off the front (main) TV when the DVD is playing it turns off the entertainment unit and as a result, the DVD stops playing in the Bedroom TV. I am guessing this is a setting somewhere as I can't imagine that I need to have both TVs on when watching a DVD in the bedroom TV.

Any suggestions on how to change this so I can use the DVD player with the Bedroom TV only?

Thank You!!!

1. variable vs. fixed. Fixed means it sends a "fixed" audio signal to the TV. The TV gets that signal, then amplifies it as needed based on TV volume. Variable...means it sends an audio signal to the TV that is variable based on the volume control of the radio. Sometimes it means it can get amplified twice which can result in bad audio. or if its too low on one, the other needs to be waaaaay up to hear anything.

2. When you turn the TV off and the DVD player goes off, it means you have CEC enabled. You may want to peruse the owners manual of the entertainment center and TV just to get a feel for how both work. CEC will be discussed in the TV manual along with how to turn it off. CEC was designed to make things work with one remote which controls both devices...including power

Nice...CEC has good intentions. Pop a DVD in the player and the TV will recognize it, power up and even change to the proper source. However, in a multi-TV environment, it causes more harm than good.

Super great if you only watch DVD's on the living room TV. Glad it all worked out.

Maybe while we're down I can shoot some more how to videos. I have a really good way to turn all your TV's into smart TV's for $40.

Maybe we can do some live Q&A sessions with some of the product...we would have free reign of the plant.

Was sorry to hear you are down, but not surprised. The How to Videos are Great... More would be even better. Is there one that discusses all the features of the Sony Stereo/GPS in the cab? LEarning how to use that is my next goal. Still didn’t quite figure it out while driving halfway across the country after purchasing the coach. Thanks again!!!
