Black tank

2017 Isata 3
Unfortunately my black tank is leaking into the sewer line. At this point it is just very gross liquid & it isn’t running out but is a steady drip. I have flushed with a hose at the black tank flush & have dumped multiple 5 gallon buckets down the toilet. Any suggestions?

If I understand the problem correctly, you are saying the valve is leaking into your sewer hose?

This would help at least temporarily.

I bought this item and used it the first time on my recent trip although I needed it for a gray tank. Apparently, the gate valve wasn’t always closing completely. I fixed the same problem once by adjusting the cable end where it connects to the gate valve. The outside of the control cable was too long and didn’t allow enough run of the inside wire. Flushing/cleaning tank internals was never going to solve the issue.

You may have paper stuck in the gate valve requiring the need to pull the valve and thoroughly clean, rebuild or replace the valve. Had this happen on our old coach. Paper build up in the gate valve was not allowing the valve to close completely. Good luck!!!

You might try

fill the tank till it reads almost full with water. Then open valve all the way.
It might clear what is in the gate.

Another way would be (after dumping the black tank)

close the black tank dump and cap the dump line and close the gray tank valve.
fill black tank with water until it is at the bottom of the toilet ball valve.

pull cap (some water will spill so have bucket ready)
connect dump line then open black dump valve

hopefully this will clear whatever is caught in the gate.

if you are successful with getting it cleaned out.

do not leave the black tank dump valve open when parked. Only dump your tanks especially your black tank when it is 3/4 full or better. Same with gray tank using it to clean out the dump line.

^^^x2. That's what we use because when traveling the valve apparently moves allowing 'seepage'. The only other permanent solution would be a repair/replacement of the seals.
