My Wabco was throwing an actual code and the screen turned red. That's why I didn't want to leave it plugged in. Unfortunately, I didn't write it down or get a picture of the the actual code. :-\

Sounds like I’m going to leave well enough alone and be glad mine is working. When I did my first test drive of the new rig last June, my WABCO was not working at all and kept showing a red screen. Ultimately, Dynamax had to send it back to Freightliner to get it straightened out. I don’t remember if I had the BlueFire swapped from the old unit at that point. Pretty sure I didn’t, so probably not the same issue.

I believe I’ve isolated it to whether or not cruise control switch is on when engine started. If cruise is on, the wabco trips out about 5-8 times then disables cruise with a no acc on display. If started up with cruise switch off, all is well. Cruise works just fine once rolling.

I just have the scangauge plugged in. Will use the BlueFire when needed. It comes with a nice storage case.

Head scratcher…

My cruise control doesn't work if it is ON when the engine is started. The rocker switch lights up, but you can't set the speed. Turn it off/on and it works normally. I can't say if this is what it did prior to installing the Bluefire because I put that in pretty much right after I took delivery.

Assuming your rig is not equipped with the Wabco adaptive cruise deal right? Maybe just having the cruise control switch in the on position when starting is what is irritating the Wabco. It beeps and blinks orange a handful of times and then ends up stating NO ACC, no matter what I do with the cruise switch, it just won't work. Glad to hear that maybe this isn't a problem with add-ons in the 9-pin OBD jack.

I've had to shut down the engine and re-start with cruise off if I wanted to use it. All operates great that way.

Correct. No Wabco in mine. Wish it did.

My cruise control switch is on 100% of the time. Wabco works on startup and with BlueFire every time.

MoJoe and I both have a 2021 XL with Cummins 450hp/1250tq L9.

That may explain the difference as the OP was about a '21 with a DD8.
