Broken Entry Threshold (top step)

The metal threshold on the top step has pulled away from the floor and when you step on it has no support so you foot slides off. Found it by stepping on it and then bouncing down the steps and out the door onto the ground.

If you step on it you can see a couple of screws that probably should have held it in place. when you move the threshold the screws do not move so their heads probably have pulled through the front of the step.
See attached picture looking down from inside coach.

Looking for some repair advice before I start pulling things apart.
It appears the screws that should be holding it in place are behind the rubber mat on the vertical face. Should I peel that off or does the Al top piece snap off?

Thanks

Scary

Hope you are okay. Will be curious to see how Forest River responds. I have an Isata 3, but I think I will check the steps. At my age, I don't bounce.

added three pictures:

1st is just of top step as it is.

Second pic I used a the cover of dinette storage as a straight edge to show bend from corners. With out pressure about a 1/4 in. In the center the edge of the Al threshold is just off the edge of the floor.

Third pic shows what happens if you step on it. Moves out and down.

OK, that is just a top trim piece. If you pull the rubber face off the riser you should be able to add screws.

I pulled the rubber back so I could see the screws. The existing screws had pulled through the Trim piece but held in the metal riser. So I added washers and tightened them. I also added some pan head metal screws to help secure it. see pic. It is much better but still moves some when you step on. If you look at the modified drawing you can see that there is empty space behind the screws. The screws tighten the trim piece to the riser nicely but you are relying on the stiffness of the metal riser to hold the trim piece in place when you step on it. I may make another trip to the hardware store and get some long pan head screws to to attach the top of the riser and trim piece to the floor. For scale the gap between the floor edge and the riser is about 3/4 of inch.

We're running metal step trim now that we have gone away from the LED step light. They backordered that trim, so we were forced to find an alternative to the LED strip...which ended up being just an LED aisle light on the step side.
