Cab section separating

We have separating on both sides of our 2016 DX3. Called Dynamax and was told 1) it is out of warranty, and 2) as second owner the warranty it had was non-transferable anyway. So we are on our own to figure out how to get this fixed.

It is a design flaw, as far as I can see. Not happy with the response I got from the customer service folks.

You can cause that area to buckle if using the jacks incorrectly (tires off the ground, letting the cab hang as dead weight).

At this point that is a fairly easy fix.

Use a razor knife to break the seal on either side of the screw cap (bulge part on either side)
Pull the plastic screw cap which will expose the screwed down metal trim
Install new screws and maybe rivets in the old holes.

If careful, you should be able to reuse the old screw cap, then just use black sealant on either side to reseal.
