Cab Wind Noise

A while back I was talking to the owner of a Jayco SuperC on a FL chassis and he told me how he cut the wind noise way down. I have had a lot of wind noise so I tried his suggestion and it cut the noise way down.

Apparently the hole in the outside mirror mounting bracket that attaches to the body acts like a bottle that when you blow over it it makes a noise. I plugged up the holes with some putty and what a big difference!

Interesting. I shall have to try this.

Wonder if it improves fuel economy as well....

Great tip. I think I'll be filling with a clear weather resistant RTV. There are likely other small orifices that contribute to road noise as well. I'll be searching for these as we learn to live in our XL.

Kind of an update; didn't have good pictures till today. First one shows top hole with putty in it. Need to add a little extra. Second pic is the bottom hole on the top mount. Last pic is bottom mount and not really an issue, I think.
