Cable TV

As a man, I am predisposed to never ask for directions, perhaps it may be perceived as being weak or it's programmed in my/our dna. Okay, maybe I'm weak but I have finally reached the point where I am compelled to seek guidance.

I cannot seem to connect the cable to the Samsung TVs on our 17 Dynamax XL. Or more accurately, the cable is connected, the antenna switch is off (light not on) and the channels supposedly available are nowhere to be seen.

I have gone round and round on the various menus, and source choices but to no avail.

A related question is: does anyone know how to move the LR TV away from the wall; i.e. release the mount. From what I can see there are no direct CATV connections there, only HDMI's. The only actual cable connection I see to a TV is in the BR unit.

I am befuddled.

I assume you did a channel search on the cable setting in the tv menu?

I had trouble with the cable on my 17 XL for about a year. Bedroom and outside TV had a clear picture but main tv never worked. I had to make sure all connections in the wall and by the HDMI splitter were tight. Several came loose. Works like a charm now.

There is a cable connection to the LV TV. To loosen you release the 2 brackets and push the TV up to disconnect.

When you say the "light is off"? Which light?

When we ran the "King Digital Antenna", many people got confused by the blue light. They would turn that off and think they were turning off the antenna. The blue light is only the "signal strength meter" not the power booster. The actual antenna booster is a green light on a small wall plate with a coax plug on it.

If there is no coax to the TV, then I don't believe you will get Cable or OTA.

There is no coax connector at the plate. There is one at the BR TV and one would assume there is one on the LR TV but I am unable to confirm that, hence the question in my first post as to how one can get that TV off itís mount.

We have used different Winegard plates over the years. Whether you have coax at the plate or not is not really relevant.

As for getting the TV off...do you have a pic of your setup? That will help identify what you have and how it comes off.

You also did not say if you can get OTA channels on all the TV's.

PS. This would be a lot easier than pulling the TV as well to know if there is Coax.

OTA channels are available on the LR TV. I'll take a pic later and send it.

Then that means it has Coax, otherwise you would not get OTA.

So then it is more likely that whatever cable TV source you are using does not like passing through the Winegard wall plate. I would run a direct coax cable from the source to a TV that you can get access to. If it scans, then we know it is the booster causing issues, if it does not, then we know it is the source.

If it is the booster, you can always bypass the coax, with a high quality splitter. You just would not get OTA

Thank you. Is there a wiring diagram available that depicts the coax connections? Where is the booster located?

The booster is the Winegard plate with the little button and green light. All the coax comes into that plate for distribution.

Sensar booster is what I think we used in 2017...might not have the 12V outlet though
