I'm not sure that is the part I am talking about though. There is an HD Spring option that is available. We were under the impression is was standard on the 4x4 (according to FCA), but they were mistaken. So it is an option we had to select.

It would be on your FCA/Dodge/Ram Window Sticker, not your Forest River/Dynamax window sticker. Here's the one from ours and I've circled the option in red.....

^^this^^^ sort of.

Once we found out that option was not standard on the 4x4...we ordered the HD springs that come on that option. So for a while (until we started getting the chassis in with that option) we show them on our MSRP since the Ram window sticker would not. So, if our MSRP does not show HD front springs for 7250 front axle rating, then the next place to look is the chassis window sticker. IF that does not show this option....then you do not have the HD Springs.

Clear as mud right?

Thanks for the photo. We don't have that sticker, but I will check with our dealer.

Pretty much. Obviously, it would be great to have an extra 250 lbs allocated to the front axle. Do GAWR stickers ever get amended? Seems like that might be an important factor in certain circumstances.

As Rrzasa mentioned, you can go to that link, set up an account and register your VIN number. After that, you'll be able to view/download your Dodge window sticker. That was how I was able to get mine and provide the picture I did.

Well, my window sticker does not show the HD package so are you able to spec which shocks I need to get the HD so I can have the 7,250 max on my front axle?

Or is it more than just HD shocks?

Yup, found it. (I could not find it on the My Mopar App, but found it easily on the website).

It doesn't look like we got the shock upgrade. Bad news for front axle weight. Bad news in any other way?

I appreciate all the help on this topic. I learned more than I ever really intended to learn.

Sorry, its not shocks. its Springs. I think they gave me part numbers. They are different for the 4x2 and the 4x4.

These are the only parts that change on the HD Front end.

52855600AD SPRING FRONT COIL 4 x 2

Is this something your team at the factory would install after delivery?

So what does it mean if you don't have the HD springs? Weight ratings still good? I remember reading the article on the 30FW stating the front axle was over weight, is that just the 4x4?

We did install them here until we could get the option added to the incoming chassis. Our brochure still states 7000lbs for the front. We just started adding them to give a little more room on the front. But any truck shop should be able to install them.

Weight rating is still good, you just have to make sure you balance your loads. The 4x4 is the only one that gets tight, but we added that option to 4x2 and 4x4. For the money, it was too inexpensive to not add a little fudge factor.

On the bigger units, we can shift weight behind the axles so its a little easier. On the 30FW, it so short (if you can call 32' short) you are more limited.
