Converter charger for lithium

Question regarding the Progressive Industries charger section replacement for lithium. If I replace the charger section for the higher voltage for the lithium (14.4 volts) I believe, will that not be to high for the chassis batteries or is there a way to control that voltage?

Wow, I'm surprised I have no responses. For ones that have lithium house batteries with the converter/charger for lithium, or has the switch in the back of the charger to change to lithium batteries , what controls the higher voltage rate going to the chassis batteries once the house batteries are charged?

You also need to change your BIM to a LI-BIM - that will handle the chassis batteries.

Thank you. Just finished reading the info on the Li-bim and that will do the job.

I think I meant to but got side tracked. I guess my question would be what is your alternator hitting the batteries at? I think it is 14.4

Hi Brian. I have not put a meter on the batteries to check that so will do that tonight when I get home. I was more concerned about what was happening with the chassie batteries when plugged into shore power with the updated lithium charger unit from progressive. I installed the PD4590LICS unit as a direct lithium replacement for the standard gel/flooded batteries unit but they could not confirm what it would do to the chassie batteries. Thanks

Li-Bim should only connect them when needed.

I would talk with Battleborn batteries. They are very helpful.
