Countertop Crack

I searched but didn't see anyone else report this in a DX3. Is a countertop crack common in there, and any idea what would cause this?

Almost looks like it was broken during installation and someone used filler to try to fix it.

Is that stone or acrylic? Stone will show a crack and replacement is the only choice. Acrylic can be repaired and any crack won't be visible.

I've always stayed away from stone countertops in vessels and vehicles that move. Stone won't bend, it breaks, while acrylic has some degree of flexibility and is repairable.

1. That is a used coach I assume. We don't patch cracks

2. That is acrylic. Samsung Staron to be exact...looks like natural bridge

correct, used. (I don't have money for new yet )

Any idea what would cause that crack Brian? The good thing about acrylic, I guess it is more easily fixed

The same thing that causes any crack, stress. Its in a narrow spot of the counter, and it extends out beyond the slide fasica. If there is any flex in that slide fascia (slide extended too far out), that would be the weak link. Nothing I would be concerned about.

My 2016 DX3 also formed a crack in the same place, it was my own doing, while reprogramming my kitchen slide I had the slide right side move further than the left slide and it bound up against the fixed counter top and crack. I’m probably going to remodel the kitchen next year along with a new countertop so it’s not too bothersome for me.
