Last week, I noticed crack in the outer skin of our 2015 DX3. It starts at the forward lower corner of the rear bedroom slide cutout and angles down and toward the front. Is about 6 inches long. I took some photos, see below.
What caused the crack and what is the best way to fix it and/or prevent it from happening again??
Coming from a 2015, I would say the first thought is excessive tongue weight. Or hit something nasty while towing.
Easiest, most cost effective, cut that crack in a line, epoxy in a trim piece, paint to match. Gives it just enough flex and sealed for weather.

Same crack in my 2015. There are many threads up here about this. Some people tow and some say they never tow. Most say it is a weak spot in the shell but the fix is the same as Brian said. trying to find someone to fix mine this winter who has done it before.
I just purchased my 2023 dynamax isata 5 28 SS… 8k mi, about 4 months old.
No real tongue weight but tow Jeep Wrangler…
See my newest thread.. crack in mine coming from this same area as yours.
Hoping Dynamax has a fix,,, almost need to reinforce these areas from the inside. Hopefully fix is not a big patch on the outside.. that would look ugly!!

Good luck.. rethinking my Dynamax ownership!!
It is not a structural issue. We had a guy cutting openings with a saw and not a router, caught it pretty quickly. A square cut will crack out, needs to be rounded. There is no big patch. Just body it, paint it. Looks brand new.
