Design Flaw?
On first real trip in Europa 31; this is what our back closet looks like after 700 miles (2 days). We really did hang our stuff up before departure (my stuff on left, wife's on right). Looks like a faulty closet rod to me.
On a serious note - anyone found hangers that will stay on the closet rod?

We are old school and have used the old school wire coat hangers that you can bend it fit around the closet rod.
In reality we hang very few clothes in the camper.
Yes your hangers have a design flaw

since the rod is still in place .... maybe a design flaw in the hangers
or you travelled way too fast on a bumpy road
plastic hangars can be heated and bent more (PITA)
PS....... ignore above IF you put rod back before taking photo
if the rod FELL I would replace it with one that has screw mounts

We took the rod down and put a piece of pool vacuum hose over it and then hung the rod back up. This solved this problem completely for us. We also added a vertical shoe bin in the middle for storage but it also keeps the rod from sagging.

lol. Its a catch 22...but one, I have decided to err on the side of functional. The regular rod gives you the most space and the most flexibility. It has the most aftermarket products designed for it.
This device exists in most RV's. https://www.amazon.com/JR-Products-2.../dp/B002UC8P08
I did not love that it was brown and it seemed somewhat cheap. So we had a company make this for us out of aluminum angle and powder coat it black.
So on today's production models, we have this clothes hanger with slots. It may not hold as much, but they will not bounce out (in theory).

The rear of any RV gets the most bounce per mile. That's the reason I would never have a rear kitchen RV.
Our old MiniLite had the closet in the rear and every trip resulted in the mess you show.
I made a pair of custom wood rod holders and added a bungee cord just above the rod. Hangers slipped in over the rod but under the bungee and the bungee held them on the rod. Never had a problem again. Cost was minimal - like under 20 bucks.

Whoa. Amazon is not your friend for this product. Exact same hanger bar is incredibly cheaper at almost any other vendor.
Cliff, if you decide to change the hanger rod to the slotted bar, google it.

We added a vertical brace to the horizontal closet rod to take out the flex when loaded with stuff. Since the rod will bend with weight it will unweight when hitting bumps and drop them as seen in your picture. Pure Physics at work. It did the same on our Isata 5 our first three trips till we added that brace right in the middle of the closet rod. No more issue with a full closet in over 50K of travelling.

Uhhh, looking at the picture, it doesn't look like the rod failed. One hanger is still attached to the rod. I'm thinking more on the lines of rough roads and speed.

I have this type of bar in my Wildwood rear bath wardrobe. I think they work pretty well and as long as there is something on the hangar they generally stay put. Empty hangars though end up all over the wardrobe. I'll probably just bungee any empty ones together on my next trip.

Those darned hangers just won't stay in place while traveling down the road.
Happened in our travel trailer and now in our motorhome.
The best and cheapest solution we've found are those cheap metal hangers you get at dry cleaners. You bend the hook around the bar and that will keep the hangers from falling off. Then you have to address the clothes falling off the hanger.

I just lay the clothes on the bed on their hangers. Hang them up during set up. Take them down for travel.

We also put a bit more storage in our closet and that keeps the rod from bouncing so it doesn't toss the hangars off anymore. See the Europa Tips and Tricks thread

I always err on the side of: If I'm going camping I shouldn't bring clothes that require hangers.

Hanging clothes are pretty nice to have when on our 3-4 month long cross country trips. YMMV. We just got home from a 4 month, 16K mile trip. Would have hated not having that closet.

Plastic hangers are lousy. Use metal hangers and bend the top slightly around the pole.

Try hanging them on backwards, it has worked for us.

I had read years ago to hang clothes backwards (open end of hanger to front of rv) to prevent clothes from bouncing off the rod.
It worked for us!
