Diesel Fuel Cap

Isada 5 30FW: Anyone else notice that their fuel cap does not thread to the filler neck properly? I looked closely, and mine clearly is the wrong cap for the filler neck. It seems like it’s threading on, but it never actually seals. Almost like it’s cross-threaded.

No issues with mine. Tried to find a decent locking one but the only ones sold are easy to remove with a screw driver.

I would be surprised if it’s not sealing. If it’s not sealed it should turn on the check engine light and set an evaporative emissions code.

No such codes for diesel engines. You can run without a cap as long as you want.

Did you check out "Geno's Garage. Com" they are a dedicated Ram/Cummins site for unique parts!

Geno's offer both DEF and Diesel locking caps for the current Ram trucks which include the 3500,4500 and 5500 cab and chassis models.

I looked at Gino’s, and, sure enough, the one they show has a completely different threading than mine. It’ their part no. MOP-52013994AB. Thanks Jim34RL.

Nice and secure too but no tether and no magnet. So nowhere to put it except on the ground when refueling. Especially when uplifting DEF which requires putting the rig quite far from the diesel filler so that the DEF wand can reach the barn door up front.

Oops, I forgot about him having a diesel.
