DX3 Fog light solution

We had our DX3 37RB for a little over 1 1/2 yrs. When we drive at night, I can’t see too well with the headlight “they are LED” and the fog light on. I have been searching for a lighting solution. Well we went to SEMA this year and came across Diodes Dynamic. They offer a lot of lighting solution. What I like was their SS3 3” light. They are SAE certified. Have a perfect cut off, so you will not blind the on coming traffic. Below is some of the pictures of the installation I did. Enjoy

Very cool, I think I saw them at SEMA also. I run the buckstop winch bumper so my cutouts are round. Went with rigid round spots. Off road use only. I only use them on clear backroads at night or off road.

Did you look at Deep Space Lighting run by David Dixon? A few years ago at an HDT Rally, I was able to get his upgrade lights to replace the "mousey" OEM headlamps on my 2015 Dynamax DX3-37RB (David had just made the upgrade for Freightliner M2s available). Before that, lighting upgrades were only available for the real "Big Boy" trucks. The Deep Space upgrade made a HUGE difference.

Nice! I like your amber lights. I too had a harder time at night and my model didn’t come with fog lamps either. I had these LED lights installed (I’m not that handy.)

I'm a lighting geek, to the point of taking apart headlights and upgrading projectors from halogen to HID.


So... anyone got beam pattern pictures against a nice plain wall and down the road?

What about with the XL, anyone added driving lights on a M2-112? I know on my Ram, the driving lights really light up ditches/road edge, I'm assuming the same would be for the larger chassis.

The XL did not come with auxiliary driving lights, I added factory Freightliner lights in addition to a few others...

Its not much iirc. 10A maybe. overcurrent protection is solid state within the canbus and does not have a dedicated fuse. Theres a couple of different circuits grouped together on 40A fuses above the drivers front wheel.

L98383, did you put in a factory harness for them? Or did you just run your own? Haven't dug into the front to see if there's anything waiting to get used.

Jim, I installed an SPod that controls the grill lights, bumper lights, ground LED lights and Horn Blaster train horns. Touch screen mounted next to over head cubby.
