Dx3 lower compartment doors

I want o attach something to the inside of the compartment door in the wet bay - the “1/16” black pvc covers the whole interior of the door - does anybody know is there a aluminum or steel backing behind this to attach and be able to drill into or is this ill advised and will not support anything attached to it?

This is a guess on my part but most doors like that have metal on the outside with foam center with some kind of inside covering. Not really made for attaching things. This is just a wag on my part.

There is outside framing and sometimes inside framing if we ask for it.
