DX3 (M2) window pillar rusting.

Has anyone else had the issue with the black window pillar (part in between the main window and the tilt out window) flaking and rusting?

To my trained eye (I sell a paint product and have a lot of training on it) it looks like Freightliner did not prep the surface correctly prior to painting.

I’m planing on masking off the area around it and painting. Or is this covered under a Freightliner warranty? 2018 DX3

Freightliner warranty is one year. My 2018 was bubbling up in the same area before I traded it.

Wipe it on, spray it on and let it soak, whatever you wish, rust just plain stops.


No, I don't work for them, or have anything to do with them. I've nearly dunked my Jeeps and the truck in the stuff though.

I just noticed that on mine a few weeks ago. Drivers side only.

I was going to see if you can purchase just that part. If not, good thing I’m in the bodyshop business. Lol.
