DX3 Skid wheels

Any recommendations for skid wheels for a DX3. Bolt on vs weld on. steel vs poly. Fixed vs rotating.

Whats your experience With skid wheels. Steel vs poly, welded vs bolt on, rotating vs fixed. To many options and no experience makes this a difficult decision.

I thought about skid wheels but made my rear air bags manually adjustable instead. I can gain 3 to 4 inches when needed by airing the bags up.

I made a set of roller skid wheels I posted on another issue which they did take a beating this year, I plan on raising the hitch and adding a manual air switch to raise and or lower the air bags before we venture out for 2018.

I have 2 skid wheels welded on frame on both sites of the tow bar connection. I bought them through Camping World. They decrease my clearance less than an inch. I’m glad to hear them rolling rather than the rear cap dragging, it’s a different sound.

Guess that works if you’re towing a trailer, not too good with a tow bar [emoji33]

I've used both and NEVER had an issue. . My unit dragged maybe twice since I've owned it. It was the bottom of the receiver.. I think the mid 2015 and up models have that new design preventing damage to rear cap. With that said, you must know your limits.. I'm not pulling into anything that I think will damage the coach.

I see you have a 2015 model. I that the old rear compartment design? I believe 2016 was the first year to have the sloped rear compartment.
Don’t drive in Northern California on Hwy 1. If you have the old style then you will drag the rear cap.

I have been meaning to post photos of the skid wheels I has installed. As can be seen, they have hit the concrete several times instead of my coach

Thanks.
I see that’s what happened so I’ll quit worrying about it.

I see Cajun Palms is close to Lafayette. I’ve not seen it, will have to visit in case someone ask for a recommendation in this area.

The ones I have from Camping World fit the angle members on the rear of my DX3 perfectly and they are cheaper. They are welded on then painted
