Dx3 water pump prime

I pumped the water tank to empty to get rid of some bad water. Since then I have not been able to get the pump to reprime. I have pressurized the water system with the hose and then turned off the water and the pump just won't prime. Any ideas here?

Thanks

Once you pressurized the system with the hose and made sure there was water in the tank did you realize the pressure in the system by opening a faucet to get the pump to start?

Seems the pump primes better with no back pressure - have the faucet closest to the pump fully open when you try to prime.

It is entirely possible that the water pressure from the hose has forced the water pump into "by-pass" mode. The pump will not come out of by-pass mode until the residual pressure from the CW line is relieved.

I wanted to share the outcome. There is a screen filter right before the water pump. It was so gunky very little water was getting through. I cleaned it and all is good...except the gunky freshwater tank!!!

What about your fresh water tank drain?

Maybe try running water into the tank with the drain line open to flush out the bad stuff, then sanitize.
